Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe
There are a few posts in the forum for this song already. These are the patches I use when playing live so this thread serves just to consolidate all the stuff together in one place.
Many thanks to Funk76 for creating the sample used in the chorus (http://www.norduserforum.com/nord-user- ... ybe#p19889)

Nice job!
What is happening with the wheel to morph in the white noise? I guess I should load your sounds and check it out.

It rolls the freq up from min to max. If I had a good enough control pedal, I would probably assign it to that instead.

Re: Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe
Hey Darren! quick question regarding the call me maybe string samples for the chorus. I'm planning on doing this live in a different key live (male vox) - what do you reckon is the best way to re-pitch these samples? Nord Sample Editor perhaps? I have actually recorded this song in the new key but we cheated and pitch shifted it in cubase!

Re: Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe
Depends how far down you're going. The Nord will play samples at a slower rate which is fine if you're going down a tone or so but beyond that, it starts to sound weird.
I guess for best results, you could sample as is back into Cubase, do a pitch shift there and then bring the new samples back in to the Nord Sample editor. Not tried it myself, but in theory should give you the best result.

Re: Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe
Yep makes sense to me, since we've already done most of the work. We have shifted it quite a way - into G I think. The samples of course started to sound a bit thin so doubled it with a decent string program from the NS2 and it works a treat

Re: Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe
The samples were all done by another user on this forum (Funk76). If you wanted to create the samples yourself then there is a breakdown in the song from around 2:16 where you can get the string stabs and glissando very clean. For the rest, I'm using string patches from the melotron library and a pure synth sound for the 'whoosh'. Hope this helps, but feel free to ask if you need anything more specific.
