Hi Guys,
Just want to share this sound, since I couldn't find one I like.
I've made it for a dutch carnaval (dutch carnaval) song.
A friend (thanks Joost!) (who owns the Tyros 4) helped me playing all the notes seperately.
It's sampled from the "Bariton Horn" from the Tyros 4

Re: Tuba sample
Wow. First impression upon reading this: how thoughtful and great that a link to the .wav file was provided. Source files allow others to re-manipulate things, or to consolidate them with other .wav files into a single .nsmp file.
Second impression: the link didn't work.
Then I listened to the mp3. The solo tuba playing sounds more like a synth than a real tuba, when suddenly the accordion kicks in to provide context and it sounded fairly good. Plus, I think you started hitting some lower registers there than what I heard in the solo part. More convincing, though still a synthesized tuba.
Should I be embarassed that i had to google Tyros 4 to learn what that was?
Your song reminded me, if only vaguely, of being at a birthday party for La Blonde Sien at Rooie Nelis in Jordaan one cold, Amsterdampy October night. I think she turned 80 that night. Last time I visited she was 85 and still working the bar every day with her "younger" husband. Anyway, they had a full marching band show up that night, performing in the street out front. Perhaps I heard that same tune?
Thanks, Bart!
Bless,
Pablo

Re: Tuba sample
I just checked the link and it did download and point to the dropbox location (even when I was signed out). Maybe others can confirm this?pablomastodon wrote:Wow. I must agree when I was playing the sample more and more.... it did sounded more like a synth brass. But as you mentioned, when I played it together with the accordeon, it seemed to work out for me.

No problem It's a Yamaha workstation. I've owned the Tyros 3 before the Nord, but since I'm not using the rhythm section of it anymore (playing in a band), I've sold it and bough the red beauty!
