Hello,
I'm new here and I've already got a serious problem with my Nordstage 88 EX (it's only 3 weeks young): I love this Machine, but the synth section seems to have a technical defect already. Since yesterday morning it detunes itself against the other sections Piano and Organ for estimated 30 or 40 cents (sometimes almost a halftone), whenever it wants to and without any trace or hint of how it happens. It doesn't depend on certain sounds or the use of sustain, mod wheel or pitch stick, but also appears, when I play some notes or chords on the keys or when I just leave Power on and play again after a while. Sometimes it works fine again for a short while, but only to show the same problems again afterwards. When I switch off the synth section, there is no more detuning hearable between organ and piano or external instruments. Does anybody know a simple solution or is it really a case of technical support?
Thanks for help
Greetings
Tastenhamster

Re: My new Nordstage EX Synth section detunes itself
hi Tastenhamster and welcome to this forum!
this happens to me too from time to time, but not that often. i haven't been able to locate what's wrong so far. you say it has nothing to do with the pitch bend stick, but how do you know?
i have found that the stick isn't that accurate when pitching a wider range than +/-2 semi notes. have you tried to turn off the PB function for the synth section, for that specific PROGRAM? my advise is to try that first. disable the PB funcion and STORE the PROGRAM. now see if that makes any differense.
please let us know if this helps!

Hi
Just want to add something...
On the Synth section, there is a knob called TIMBRE and other called FREQ.
There are some sounds that those two knobs change the pitch of the sound.
Try to compare the sound you say has the pitch changed with the piano or organ so you know is on the right pitch and then try changing the TIMBRE or FREQ knob.
