Nord Electro 5 SPLIT Function Question

Post by Olive Oyl »

Hello all,

when I'm in Split Mode and have a Wurlitzer in the lower part and a synth in the upper part, is it possible to apply different effects for each sound?
Let's say I want to have a lot of reverb on the synth but have the Wurlitzer dry?

Thank you!

All 4 effects have a knob called Part Select. By dubbelclick you choose the upper or lower part for this effect.
Does not apply for reverb.

Thank you for the quick reply!

Another question that just came up in regards to the Split Function in Set List Mode:

So I'm in Set List Mode and I would like to have this Wurlitzer/Synth Split on button A. I chose the effects for each sound and press the red Store button.
As long as I stay WITHIN the song, I can switch between A B C D and the Split & effect settings on A are saved.
However, when I switch to another song and then come back to this song, the split & effect settings are all gone, even though I pressed the store button before.

Do you or anybody else know how the split settings can be saved in set list mode?

A Set list is just a sequence of Programs and settings are stored only in Programs ;)

As far as I remember you can store the program settings while you are in setlist mode by keeping the "A" or "B" or ... (etc. according to the program you want to save) button pressed and the press "store" twice. Will check once I'm home at my E5 :)

You can find this procedure on page 12 of the manual near the end of the page.

...but remember, when you follow that procedure to change the Program settings, you're not just changing the sound of that Program for that particular Song, you will also be changing the sound of that Program in any other Song that is using that Program in (as well as when you access the Program by itself, not from within any Song).

So let's say I have a Wurlitzer sound in three different songs and I would like to have different effects on it in each song. Does it mean the best way to handle this is copying the Wurlitzer sound first to two other programs (so I have a total of three), put the different effects on it and than match them with the songs in the set list mode, right?

Thank you everybody! Great help!

Yes, saving different versions of the Wurly is the most convenient way. The only other way would be to remember the combination of effects you want and dial them in each time you select the song.
