I think they said that they were going to release some more of those synth samples, one at a time. I hope they don't. I hope they release some new E-pianos!

One thing that I'm certain of, is that Clavia knows that we want a more diverse set of EPianos than we currently have.

I e-mailed Clavia about the possibility of a "Super-Wurly" with pedal-down samples. I got what I imagine to be a stock reply:
Hi

Thanks for your email,

I really can't discuss or make any comments on future products, suggestions or updates, we just have to wait and see. But I still want to acknowledge the fact that we do read every email that arrives, so thanks for your input.

Best regards,
Tomas Johansson
Product Manager - Clavia DMI AB
I was hoping for something a bit more concrete, especially considering that the Nord Electro is the industry standard instrument for vintage keyboard sounds. Oh well...

Hello Simon,
at least Nord treats us all equally.
I've gotten that answer so many times that I've almost stopped trying to communicate with them.
I guess we'll just have to wait :(
Cheers and merry Christmas, Hanon

We should keep the following in mind:
Clavia is a comparably small company, they're about maybe 25 peolple doing a great job.
They keep their ears closer to their users than any other company does.

Could you imagine to mail to Yamaha or Korg or Roland and tell them you would appreciate this or that feature to be implemented in the next OS-update that you expect to be published next month.
You wouldn't even get a reply.

We're so much used to a close contact to Clavia that we tend to be a bit impatient.
Software development takes months and months, sampling a new instrument like a new Rhodes or Wurli also.
And we must be aware that even Clavia has something like product politics that lets the company survive in a Japanese dominated market. They can't do it all just for NS users. Some day there'll be NS3 or something.
And maybe one day we'll have to say good-bye to the well-loved habit of getting it all for free.

In all fairness, I have received the same type of emailed answers from both Korg and Yamaha.
They WILL answer, and they're just as non-informative about future plans and products as Clavia is.(loose lips sink ships)

In this climate of corporate espionage and level 10 OPSEC,
I'm not surprised that all musical equipment mfg employees have a confidentiallity clause in their employment contract that allows for immediate termination and subsequent civil action if they speak out of turn.

Of course, I am also a strong believer in "ask not, receive not".

Just my 2 centavos worth ;)

Cheers, Hanon

25 people for a keyboard company is actually pretty big when you consider the volumes they sell and the likely roles of the staff.

Anyway, the whole point of the Nord is that there is a market for "classic gear" without the hassle and they are the key player in doing this. There are no others.

If you think Hammond, Rhodes, Wurlitzer, Analogue Synth, Clavinet you either get those individually, or you get a Nord.

There are other 1/2 players, like the Korg SV-1 but the Nord is THE tool.

I don't give one iota about various weird synths from the 80s. I play modern music and I need the above sounds.

I expect 99.99% of you lot are exactly the same. The fact that it also has some brilliant acoustic pianos is a total bonus.

Most of us are here for the Organ and Electric Pianos. Nord need to realise this and focus more of their effort on these people, rather than people who care about the Mk2 Doppleganger Polyvox from June '83.

My Nord Stage EX is the best possible piece of kit imaginable. I have owned all the gear and the Nord gets the best bits all in one board, without all the noise, maintenance and humping. It is beyond belief.

However, wanting anything more feels greedy, but since they are in the market of new "apps", it would be good if these were relevant to the biggest part of the market. People playing electromechanical instruments without having to bring a massive truck to every gig.

Guys, how can we activate Nord crew for this problem? That Rhodes sound is great, but top half of keyboard is practically unusable, also on stage and in studio...
