Nord Lead A1 Editor VST for Apple MAC and Windows
Nord Lead A1 Editor VST for Apple MAC and Windows
Not sure if this has been posted
The Nord Lead A1 is a polyphonic synthesizer with an analog modeling Engine and has lots of knobs and switches to edit. But some are not directly accessible and sometimes it can be usefull to controll the synthesizer within your DAW. Especially if the hardware is not nearby. All these is possible now with the Nord Lead A1 Editor Software. You can create your own sounds on a comfortable way.
The editor can be used as standalone and VST/AU version for Windows 32 and 64 Bit and MAC OSX. Be sure you´ve updated your Nord Lead to firmware 1.30. Otherwise the editor won´t work correctly.
The editor is optimized for a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 px.
You can purchase a full working version at https://synthmania.de/shop/ for only 15,00 Euros.

I bought ist (for 15€). It's very practical to understand the parameters of existing patches and to change them. It looks nice, it works.

Did you find it easy to do the midi dump so that the editors buttons move when you change preset? (as described in the manual) I can't make it happenkoloman wrote:I bought ist (for 15€). I have to go after each program change on the A1 to the Midi Menue and to "operate" 5.cc. I found no way that the A1 triggers this automatically.

ok, that can't be how it's intended to be. I mainly bought it so I can study presets so it's essential for me that the knobs move when I change presets, otherwise I don't really need an editor for the A1. I'm in contact with the support, if they solve the problem for me I'll let you know

Hm, for me it works like a charm. The manual describes the procedre how to send all necessary CC Data to the editor. Of course you must do that every time you change a program, but this doesn´t bother me.
Also there is a demo available so you can check before you buy something.
I like this editor very much because it facilitated my programming much and saves also time. Everybody who uses an A1 knows about some parameters where you must dive into menus.
The support of the developer is also exemplary.

Re: Nord Lead A1 Editor VST for Apple MAC and Windows
This does not work, because the A1 does not accept a command to activate a midi dump. Therefore Clavia implemented the function "5.CC" to start a dump of all CC-Data. This is the same with the NL4, NL3 and many others.koloman wrote:I have to go after each program change on the A1 to the Midi Menue and to "operate" 5.cc. And I can´t find any part in the manual where is described that this dump automatically will be activated via program change...

I of course followed the procedure described in the manual 100%, still doesn't work. I checked with midiOX that midi is sent from the A1 to the editor, which it is, and still the programs do not show up in the editor.Sylvia Nord wrote:The manual describes the procedre how to send all necessary CC Data to the editor..
Support says that its not a problem with the editor because it works at their place, which is a very weak argument. Of course they wont give me a refund despite the fact that I've tried everything to make it work
Not a fan of them at all.
