Different Hardware Versions for Stage 3?
On the hires pictures up on the Nord site the Stage 3 has a version of "v2.0.0" as you can see in the picture below. My Stage 3 says "v2.0.1". Are there different hardware versions? Does anyone know what the differences are?

Re: Different Hardware Versions for Stage 3?
There are various Version numbers on the chassis of any of the Nord keyboards, infact IIRC even the black under chassis frames have different Variation numbers on some models I think that its probably to do with the original Design process.
I suspect Nord make many different prototype panel layouts before deciding on the final model for the production phase so this is why the panel might may be v2.0 in full production as the original prototype was version 1.0 but they changed it before going into full production or that perhaps later on down the line they may need to make slight layout alterations/modifications to labelling or the manufacturing process or internal part layout,so the V No.on the panel shows its current incarnation should they need to make changes to which the manufacturers work to,or it may be easier to track faulty models in production phases it could also be the particular model in the same family too,as the compact has a slightly different fascia to the HP/88 models due to the physical drawbars on the compact,so they might have different panel Version numbers as well even though they are the same Keyboard model...
The Nord Lead 4 had a variation on the silk screening Labelling as they added an extra function via software which was Shift+kb Track button and this puts all 4 slots into the same editing mode(all slot focus) the later revised models made at the factory after this software update actually had this shift function labelled on its panel as a secondary shift mode, where as my earlier model prior to this software update doesn't so I would suspect that this panel fitted to newer NL4 models is a different V no to the earlier models as it has had its silk screening fascia modified..just my theory...

"Labeling" would be a good reason. I guess I'll compare the photographs up on their site with my front plate, just for a laugh ...

Re: Different Hardware Versions for Stage 3?
It could also be due to some minor HW difference which you won't see (e.g. a change even in a single small component) and does not change the behavior of the keyboard, which is still by all means a NS3.

Re: Different Hardware Versions for Stage 3?
Just bought a Stage 3 off Reverb...Check this out, version "RevB v 1.1" At first glance, the ORGANIZE PANIC and PROG INIT are different than all the photos online! Does anyone know if there are any other differences in this model and/or if I should be concerned?

Re: Different Hardware Versions for Stage 3?
Interesting - I have two different version of the Stage 3 with different layouts. The layout you mentioned from your Stage looks like the one below from my Stage 3 88, but there are other differences primarily in the Synth section which you can also see from the pictures here. Also some changes in the Piano section with regards to Dyno settings (not on the pictures), but no reason to be concerned since there is no difference in functionality. Everything can be done with any hardware panel release, just some (like Dyno) are not labled sinc ethey have been added after the first releases.
Stage 3 Compact v2.00
Stage 3 88 RevB 5.1
Stage 3 Compact v2.00
Stage 3 88 RevB 5.1

Re: Different Hardware Versions for Stage 3?
Which is the latest version for the HA88? My new “defect” ridden Stage 3 88-key has RevB 5.1 that I just bought a week ago.

Re: Different Hardware Versions for Stage 3?
“RevB” indicates a newer model. An obvious feature is the inclusion of a “Type” button in the Piano section for RevB units.

Re: Different Hardware Versions for Stage 3?
Mine is RevB 5.1 as you can see from the pictures above, I purchased it a few months ago. Think this is the latest one
