Adding samples
Hello. Is it possible to sample a sound say from my Access Virus and import it to my NS2. If so how do I do it please. Presumably use a sampler, save it as a .ns2s file first. Will Ableton Live save samples as .ns2s files for use in a NS2??n I have read here that someone created a sample of a NI B4II and imported it to his NS2 - how do you do this? Thanks - DW

Re: Adding samples
Hello david_willco,
Welcome to the forums.
Hi DW,
The .ns2s file is a Synth Patch (a memory specific to the synth section) but not a sample. The Nord sample is .nsmp
The .ns2s file could reference a sample, but not contain the sample.
The most basic of steps would be to record notes played with the Virus in 16 or 24 bit, 44.1 KHz .WAV "Wave" format.
Then use the freely available Nord Sample Editor software to convert the .wav files to .nsmp format (what the NS2, Wave, NE3, and NP2 uses)
The Nord Sample Editor software can also transfer the .nsmp samples to these instruments via USB.
The specifics of each step can become a little more difficult, and take divergent paths.
Any program that can record an audio source and export as a wave file (.WAV) will suffice (no need for a hardware sampler).
I use a freeware program called Audacity
The following post has details on the steps that I use for making .nsmp files:

Cheers, Hanon

Hello David,
Here is a short/quick process on how I imported the sound from a Roland RD300 to a NS2, using Ableton live and Audacity too :
