DIY 2nd Manual for my Nord Stage 2 SW - self-made (V 2.0)
Hello together,
in my last post in July I presented my self-made second-tier keyboard for my Nord Stage 2. some users - especially Mr_-G- and alex78 - found it was a pity that "brand identity" was not adhered to by my wooden-brown construction, you were indeed right.
The post is found here: nord-stage-forum-f3/diy-2nd-manual-for- ... 19845.html
Now, I disassembled the whole thing and made one integrated instrument, nearly from scratch. I used the same Fatar Hammer-Action 64 key keybed and MDF wood around for the basis, but I made some integrated side panels from raw oak, which I sawed into shape, stained it with red wood stain, and put a glossy finish on top. It was a little tricky as you need to work 100% accurately, otherwise the wood won't fit into the NS2 screw holes, but I made it. Besides, you'll see that the edges sometimes are a little bumpy but again, I am no carpenter so all fist-time hand-made.
The instrument has still a wireless charging pad for the iPhone, and a headphone jack on the right, plus a USB jack on the left for convenience (no cable salad around the instrument).
It is true that the whole thing now has some significant weight, so more difficult lugging it around. But as the number of my gigs and rehearsals is limited, I'll manage. Plus, I'll probably get a custom-made case from Thomann here in my area, a real steal for around 120 EUR, plus it's really custom-made for my dimensions.
Hope you like it.

Looks really nice !
It brought an idea to my mind I hadn't contemplated yet :
I'm was thinking about a case for my delay, mixer and pedals.
But what if I made it an integral part, since the delay is 1U and 19" I could maybe remove the bottom plate of the synth (lose weight) and replace the cheeks the way you did ?
And have all the connections in place and others (FoH balanced out, monitor) neatly at the back.
Mind's churning now...
Thanx for posting this !

Ooohhh, that's really nice!
I've been contemplating something similar, but with the Nord removable.
Have to build that thing some day...

That's awesome! much better than the previous attempt. Looks like a c1 or c2 at first sight, if it wasn't the "nord stage 2'" indication on the back no one could tell.
