NAMM is just around the corner
Re: NAMM is just around the corner
The reason I hope for a Stage 3EX is mostly that the long awaited regular Stage 3 firmware update will follow along.

Re: NAMM is just around the corner
The stage piano line is well loaded with the Electros, Stages, Piano and Grand. Yes, the Stage 3 may be due for the traditional "EX" update, but it's not like Nord users have no choices of pianos right now
As for synths, it's true that the Wave 2 is barely out, but the A1 is getting old and the Lead 4 was discontinued...maybe it's time for a Lead 5, a new "pure" synth (no samples) with all the bells and whistles and full controls (not the simplified A1-Wave2 interface)?
Also, the C2D has been discontinued for a while with no successor in sight, and the Drum3 also look a bit abandoned...and while we're dreaming, if Clavia resurrected the Wave line, why not do the same with the Modulars?
We can only wait and see, there's lots of options for new products!

Speculating is very fun, and I do it too, but then we are also reminded that there was the problem of the DSP chip Nord had been using being discontinued, which according to some speculation may affect the future timeline...
How this is going to map onto NAMM, I don't know, but it might...

Re: NAMM is just around the corner
This is something I had been wondering about as well, as it seemed in most recent "What will Nord produce next" type threads, this chip is mentioned and it is often speculated that they may not have enough left for a new product and would therefore have to find a new design. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen, but it should be taken into consideration.Hlaalu wrote:Speculating is very fun, and I do it too, but then we are also reminded that there was the problem of the DSP chip Nord had been using being discontinued, which according to some speculation may affect the future timeline...

Korg have the Nautilus and Kurzweil the K2700. Will be interesting to see what Nord announce...if anything.

Re: NAMM is just around the corner
Unfortunately Nord didn't release any new products at NAMM .... I am a huge Nord fan but I am really pissed that Nord is just very unpredictable and their products are definitely overpriced. More than 4000 USD for a NS3 but limitation of both piano and sample memory (480MB is basically nothing in 2021) and lack of usb flash usage are just unacceptable for me.... The Sample Library hasn't been updated either for months now.
I was really hoping for at least a Nord Stage 3 EX

Re: NAMM is just around the corner
Hopefully, they are working on something that meets needs. People are asking if they still could buy a NS2 or things like that, so probably a NS3 isn't outdated.
When I switch on my NS3C, I'm usually keen on playing. So not interested in a Stage that has lots of memory but takes seconds to switch sound. On the NS3, it's the other way round: restricted memory, but fast.

Well we should wait until tonight, today is the main release day for products.
