73 or 76 key Midi Controller w/ TP40 Wood?
Are there any other 73 or 76 note weighted midi controllers or keyboards that use Fatar's TP40 Wood (triple sensor) or something that is more acoustic piano weighted/feel. I'm looking to pair this with my new Stage 3 SW for playing piano/EP sounds.
I've been using a Studiologic Acuna 73 for about 7 years. It has the TP100 keybed in it and while it is okay, I'd love to get a new keybed like the TP40 wood or similar that feels more like a piano than a rhodes/piano combo. Action on the Acuna is a bit light, keys feel very plasticy, and I'm just getting a bit sick of it...
I see Studiologic has this new board that says it uses the TP100 Premium which I assume is the same thing as the TP100LR that I have in the Acuna. RIght? https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... mer-action Is it a new keybed vs. my Acuna. I can't seem to figure that out. Price is good. I've been happy with the build quality and reliability of the Acuna so I think Studiologic has something good going here but don't want to buy the same keybed with slightly different controls (Sticks instead of mod/pitch wheels)
Then there is the Dexibell Vivo S3 73 Pro https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... ital-piano which uses the TP40 Triple sensor that I want but it is $2200 before tax and I really don't need the extra sounds (Although the EP's sound incredible )
The Physis Piano H3 (now K5??) was promising with the TP40wood keybed but they have gone out of business or have been bought by Viscount as I've read. https://www.musicstore.com/en_OT/EUR/Ph ... 004324-000 Seems like a lot of functionality to get the keybed I want...
This round up of all of the keyboards with their respective keybeds was useful. https://yamahasynth.com/ask-a-question/ ... s-they-use When I search for 73 and 76 note keyboards, my list is pretty small with anything that has weighted keys.
Any help or experience with a high quality 73 or 76 note weighted midi controller would be much appreciated!!

A Nord Piano 5 is probably too much over the top, right?

Pure master keyboards of that kind I cannot recall, there was in the past the VMK 176 by Studiologic (with TP40) but it didn't have a successor. The SL73 uses the TP100 (yes, and also Dexibell S3 does btw and Physis has always been a Viscount's project, now abandoned).
Since you mentioned also some DPs, what about a Korg SV1/2 73 or a Yamaha CP73?

Sorry but you would not benefit from a triple sensor action when playing pianos on your Stage 3 Compact. The Compact will not react on retriggering from the middle sensor and only produce sound as from a traditional dual sensor controller. I think so... I am basically hiding this under my NS3 SW in a b3 looking shell so really don't need any controls or sounds on the board, just a good keybed.FZiegler wrote:A Nord Piano 5 is probably too much over the top, right?
Good point. Thanks for bringing that up. I guess I would just be looking for a better action than the TP100 that my Acuna has in a 73 key package.Valpurgis wrote: Sorry but you would not benefit from a triple sensor action when playing pianos on your Stage 3 Compact. I played a SV1 in the past and really liked the keybed but it put my other board up another 4" higher than just having it almost be a dual manual organ set up. The CP73 may be a candidate.maxpiano wrote:Pier master keyboards of that kind I cannot recall, there was in the past the VMK 176 by Studiologic (with TP40) but it didn't have a successor. I may also just need to think about switching up my entire live set up from a super compressed stack that resembles a Rhodes with two keyboards to a more expanded standing rig with a NS3 on top/bottom and another board for covering the other action.

I forgot another good candidate: Viscount Legend 70s Compact, it has a flat top deep enough that could allow to put the NS3C on it

Re: 73 or 76 key Midi Controller w/ TP40 Wood?
That viscount Legend compact seems super nice! I'm a bit hesitant to have that sort of keyboard for gigging though. It seems like the Crumar seven with the integrated lid would make it much easier to move around and put it on a stage and still be able to put the ns3c on the top. The left side input/output is also a good thing as I'm 99% facing the crowd and hate having all of my cables coming right at the audience. With that said, the Viscount seems like a quality product and the external control module would be pretty useful for my purposes when using it in conjunction with the NS3C. Man... lots of options out there. Thanks for the recommendations! Keep them coming!

Re: 73 or 76 key Midi Controller w/ TP40 Wood?
Love my Legend Compact, and also use it for pianos, but there is some things in my NS I can’t live without.
Build quality seems to be very robust. It is not TP40 Wood, more similar to the NS88 HA.
The top of the Legend is flat, but not so deep, my guess is around 18 cm. I bought mine with the original stand, but have started thinking about bringing my K&M 18950 stand in duty. I think I might be able to stack all 3 boards on it with help of the stackers that can hold the NS.
Legend and a NSC would be a great match.
I don’t remember which keybed the Seven has, but I have heard some complaints on it.

If you are using the full editor, don't try to embed a picture with the 'insert' button above the text zone - but use the [Upload attachment] tab below the [Submit] button. That's it. Check for the right file on your device and hit [Add the file]. Then [Submit].
