Re: List of Nord Stage 3 known issues/bugs
I cannot believe this is STILL an issue, Clavia! I've been using my Stage 2 with a Kronos cheerfully for years and only now decided to try to use the Stage 3 with the Kronos and I cannot - for instance - play a piano sound from Panel A and have the Kronos play a sound from Panel B. That is SERIOUSLY f-ed up in a $4000 piece of gear. FIX IT, for God's sake! Looks like I'm going back to the Stage 2 (and pending load, yet another hella useful feature that you failed to implement in the NS3).

* Sending Program Change via MIDI is now only possible through the Global Channel, whereas on the NS2 this could be done via the Slot/Panel. If using the NS3 with an external board eg. Korg Kronos, they must be set to the same MIDI channel, which massively limits the MIDI capabilities

Off topic: The MIDI implementation isn't very convenient nor is it ultra-flexible. But you _can_ do what you sketched: Just use Dual Panel mode and give the control of either one of the 3 Panel-B engines or full Panel B to the Kronos. It's a bit complicated with the pedal, though: In the first case, you can use the Stage pedals for controlling that sound, for the latter, you would need to use the Kronos controls.

I'll check that out, thank you! Right now, I'm just relegating the NS3 to work with the Kronos controlling either panel depending on the Combi, but not sending program changes. Works as it should that way, but ugh.FZiegler wrote:Off topic: The MIDI implementation isn't very convenient nor is it ultra-flexible. Re: List of Nord Stage 3 known issues/bugs
Not sure if this is a bug, or a feature request: the Midi Program Change / Bank Change message should be at Song's level and not a patch level. Why? same sound may be shared across different songs... and the extern unit receiving midi should not be only related to the main program (example, Bambino Upright Piano on the NS3 and Brass Section in sound module for one song, then Bambino Upright on the NS3 and String Ensemble in the other). This obliges me to create several patches of the same sound to varies the program change message that goes out ! insane ! (same with the transposition, that should be at Song's level and not a programs level... actually I am having Brass, Brass-1, Brass-4 ... and guess what? you can't name a program Brass+1 because there is no '+' symbol available)... and with only 400 programs slots... that goes quicker than expected (unless I spend some time with Soundmanager cleaning every week). Disappointing all over.

That was a feature request, and probably a hopeless one, because all songs do is create "aliases" (as in computer terminology) that open a desired program.neomad wrote:Not sure if this is a bug, or a feature request... (post continues)

Re: List of Nord Stage 3 known issues/bugs
Hi all
Has anyone else had any problems with the HP76 keyboard? Mine is AWFUL. So heavy it actually starts to hurt. Spongy, dull, like playing through treacle. Before anyone suggests selling it and getting an HA88 - or going in for surgery, is there anything else that can be done? Would it help to clamp the keys down with a plank for a couple of weeks? Might they loosen up a touch as time goes on?
Wow its a shocker. Worst weighted keys I’ve ever played.

Re: List of Nord Stage 3 known issues/bugs
It's not an issue or a bug. It's the way the keyboard feels and it's not for everyone. In exchange for a heavier-feeling action, you get a very portable keyboard. I don't think you can change the action. I'd suggest trying the Compact. I have the HA88 (which is amazing, though less portable) and the Compact, which is a great option once you get used to playing piano parts on it. Excellent for organ, synths, clav, EP not bad.DrewBypass wrote:Hi all
