Re: Looking for Europe Final countdown patch
Hi,
long time havent messed around with that one. IIRC, they used a layered FM style Synth Brass patch (D50 or Yamaha) with an Analog Sound.
Here is a very first try based on a layered P and S Wave.
Use the MOD Wheel for the more Pad kind of Sound throughout the Song after the hook line!!
But for sure the brassy element could be done better.
And once again, sorry for the crappy playing!

Re: Looking for Europe Final countdown patch
I thought I'd give this a try also.
I had a little different perspective on it.
In the original recordings' sound, I hear a dual sound "certainly multi-element" consisting of a fairly standard Roland JX-8P analog spit brass, combined with different Yamaha TX-816 brass elements. It sounds like one of the sounds has either a pitch envelope or glissando "Yamaha DX/TX" which causes it to slide up to the note.
In my patch attempt, I made a judgement call that the brassy lead was the strongest, most recognizable part, and concentrated on it.
The synth section of the NSex lacks a pitch envelope and polyphonic glide. The only thing I could think of the fatten it up was to make a mono lead version of the horn sound, alter the attack slightly and add glide.
You folks can be the judge as to whether it works or not. Since I used both synths for the horns, the pad is conspicuously absent.

Re: Looking for Europe Final countdown patch
Hi everybody,
Here's another attempt at the infamous brass riff.
You can get a pitch envelope by using the Sawtooth Detuned (Sd) waveform (in the analogue section) and modulating it with the Mod Envelope.
Getting this one dead on is probably not possible with the NS by itself. If you can layer it with an FM brass sound, that would probably work wonders for it, as the other guys have already noted.
Cheers
Leo

Is there anyway to make this sound available for the NS2 ?RedLeo wrote:Hi everybody,
