Organ Section Quiet
Organ Section Quiet
Hey guys, just played a gig with a full band. My electro 6D was plugged right into mixer and then out to speakers. The piano section was loud and clear, but when switching to organ section, it was very quiet. I turned up the volume all the way and tried adjusting the gain knob, but with no luck. I also use a control pedal (don’t know if that has to do with anything). Any ideas why the organ section is quiet and how to fix?

Re: Organ Section Quiet
Check if CTRLPED LED is lit. Then control pedal acts as Organ Swell pedal. That's (maybe) why organ volume is low even if Organ Level is turned all the way up.
(I don't have a Electro but a S3 and had the same issue... so I looked in the manual... ). To deactivate CTRLPED press Shift + Octave up.

Re: Organ Section Quiet
This can also happen if you accidentally connect eg a sustain pedal to the control input ... which is obviously not something you do on purpose, but it has happened too someone I know very well ![Smile :-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)
Do you still have the problem now?

Through my personal amp, everything is great and I haven’t been having the trouble I was at the gig. I’m thinking maybe it had something to do with the settings on the PA monitors and speakers. Thanks for the tip though

Re: Organ Section Quiet
I had the same problem and in my case the problem was in the headphone output connection. I use a 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter which loses contact somewhere and then the organ is barely audible while the piano sounds normal. That anomaly fascinates me, because I always thought that bad contact competently stops the signal, but in the case of Nord, the piano works normally and the organ sounds significantly quieter. So, just check connection (cables, jack...).

Re: Organ Section Quiet
I am experiencing the same issue with my Electro 6. Low volume from the organ, whereas the Piano and Sample Synth outputs are normal. To equalize, I am having to run the organ ar full volume and the piano etc at 1/2 or less. This problem happens whether I use my amp or go direct through a PA.
I know how to hook up use the volume pedal (Yamaha). I know how to use draw bars.
My feeling is that organ output is set too low in the system.
Has NORD acknowledged this. Is there a fix?

Re: Organ Section Quiet
That is how most of us go about it, I think. I remember Pablo saying how he went through all programs once on a Nord of his and knocked off 3db from every sound apart from the organ.herdy wrote:To equalize, I am having to run the organ ar full volume and the piano etc at 1/2 or less.
So yes, the organ section is a lot quieter. I don't see a big problem in it, however; are you running into one?

Re: Organ Section Quiet
The other thing that. Has worked for others is to try a different control pedal type in the system menu.

Re: Organ Section Quiet
This might be common to all Nords. In the S3, the loudest by far is the synth section. Piano is more difficult to compare, given the nature of the timbre, but the organ is definitely the most quiet of the 3. As others have said, I wouldn't count it as a problem; just make sure you knock some dBs off from the synth (and piano) so that when you switch engines you have a more or less equal volume overall.
