Piano 5 organ sounds
Hi everybody
New to Nord and this forum - so please forgive me if I ask something obvious:-)
I love my Piano 5, but I am missing good rock/R&B/soul- organ sounds.
By default the factory settings has some church like organs - not very useful to me.
But when I go to the Sample Library 4.0 there doesn't seem to be any other organ sounds.
Am I missing out on something's or am I looking the wrong place?
Best regards
Peter

Hi, Peter-
The Piano series does not have an organ engine like the Electro or Stage series. There are some organ samples you can download and play using the sample player, but they are not the same as the modeled organ in the other Nord instruments. If you just bought it, you might consider returning it for an Electro 6.

Re: Piano 5 organ sounds
If I remember well, there are some B3 organ samples from WannitBBBad on this forum. Just for Piano players without organ engine. Couldn't find it at the moment.

You need to download those files (.nsmp) from that linked thread and use Nord Sound Manager to do load into NP5 (and read the NP5 manual...)pianomanca10 wrote:Hey FZ, thanks for the post. Re: Piano 5 organ sounds
It's a job to do in two steps: Download the sounds from the net to your computer, then use the mentioned Nord Sound Manager to download the sound from your computer to the Piano or Synth engine memory (which are separate).
Depending on what you downloaded, you now have a new piano base sound, a sample for the synth engine, a simple program without any sounds or a full program including sounds. And may need to go the further steps.
You really should read the manual - it's worth it!

Re: Piano 5 organ sounds
Also, don't expect miracles. Yes, there are some user samples that can give you a more passable hammond organ sound than the factory-provided organ sounds, but "passable" is about the extent of it. You cannot get really great B3 out of simple sample playback, because so much of the character of the organ comes from things that defy sampling and are best reproduced using other means (like the organ modeling in the Electro and Stage models).

Re: Piano 5 organ sounds
I think a better option will be an app on your phone or tablet, controlled via midi from your NP.
Then eventually you can send it back through the monitor in on your NP.
A cheap and good one could be the VB3M, works on either Android or IOS.

You can download 10 free organ samples at sc-sounds.com. Not great, but something...
