Nord Piano 5: electric piano mono
Nord Piano 5: electric piano mono
Hello everybody. I am a new italian owner of a Nord Piano5.
I noticed that electric piano sounds (eg Nefertiti) sound ... mono! left channel only. The piano, on the other hand, plays regularly. I can get around by using the effects, but I don't understand if it's my problem or a feature of the instrument.
I have tried several times to perform the factory reset, but always with the same result.
I searched the forum if anyone had the same problem, but I couldn't find anything; please excuse me if the problem has already been discussed.
Can anyone give me some advice? Thank you in advance
Mic

Hi, you should have sound on both left and right channel. As well as both channels of your headphones. You've checked your amplification, don't you? Did you use any adapter?

Hi and thank You for the answer.
The strange thing is that the piano, with the same amplification, comes out stereo. only electric piano sounds have this problem

Re: Nord Piano 5: electric piano mono
What about the synth engine?
And what do you mean by: I can get around it with the effects?
BTW: I think the EPs are recorded in mono. So the sample itself will probably not have 2 different channels. Nevertheless you should get sound on both your left and right channel.

Re: Nord Piano 5: electric piano mono
Is the A-Pan effect active? If so try switching it off and report back.
Re: Nord Piano 5: electric piano mono
No active effect (pan or other).
When I turn on the instrument: piano is stereo; electric piano is mono.
If I apply an effect (for example chorus or delay) the sound is on both channels. No live set.

Re: Nord Piano 5: electric piano mono
Sorry to ask again. When you say "mono, left channel only" do you mean that the right channel is complete silent? Can you upload a short video of the keyboard with only the right channel amplified?
What happens if you press the mono button?
Thanks.

Re: Nord Piano 5: electric piano mono
IF you read the manual in the "Output" section it says the Nord is a stereo instrument. Below is copied from the Piano 5 manual....
leFT & riGHT oUT
1/4 inch unbalanced line level outputs for amplifier or recording equip- ment. The Nord Piano 5 is a stereo instrument with separate signal paths for left and right audio channels.
Then manual in the Program section says for Mono....
moNo
Press MONO (Shift + Transpose) to set the outputs of the Nord Piano 5 to mono. This is a global setting which affects all programs until it is deactivated or the Nord Piano 5 is turned off.
