Nord Stage power cord
Can I use a standard power cord (same kind that comes with NS) from a regular electronics store for my Nord Stage? Or do I need a special one that is configured specifically for the NS? Does anyone know what the NS power cords are called?

Re: Nord Stage power cord
Hi,
It is the standard plug called (at least in Europe) "EURO 8" for which you can get power cords for one buck or so.
The only problem I had was that you can only buy cables of 1.8m length. But besides that I am using it (since I bought my STAGE from the UK and am using it currently in France). So no problem replacing it.
However, there seemed to have been a fuse in the UK-Plug, dunno if that is the case also for the US/EU models?? In this case, obviously you loose some protection. But I never encountered any problem even at gigs with "questionable" power supply.
hope that helps

you could bring a power point with a fuse in it, like this :Johannes wrote:there seemed to have been a fuse in the UK-Plug, dunno if that is the case also for the US/EU models?? with this, your NS is safe in case of questionnable power supply : the fuse inside melts, not your NS !
(i don't know the exact terms in english, in french it's "multiprise parafoudre")

Re: Nord Stage power cord
I bought my Stage in Vienna / Austria and there is no fuse in my cable. It's the same power cable they used on CD-players and vcr's. That's where I got my spare - my old vcr.
There is a fuse on the back panel of the keyboard though and I recommend to everyone to get spare fuses BEFORE a gig for EVERY device you have! It almost got me into deep trouble at my last gig when a fuse blew...
I use a power surge protector too.

I have a US Nord Stage 88 EX that I have switched to 220v. Can you tell me what fuse is used in the European Stage 88 EX models?kagamul wrote:

Re: Nord Stage power cord
Hi,
for those who also have the 115/220 switching problems, this is a really usefull resource thread for Nords:
http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-29716.html
(don't have unfortunately have found the values of the fuse of the Stage though. Will check the one in my compact though once I open it. Good luck!
Johannes
EDIT: From this link, I followed that the fuse used should be of 250mA for 115V and 125mA for 230V.

Re: Nord Stage power cord
Just a question. I have a Classic Nord Stage 88, I forgot the cable and I have another one, of a VCR, the sticker bahind my Nord Stage says that it uses 115V~ 25W 50/60 Hz and Fuse T 300mA L 250V connection, the new cable that I've got says 125V and 7A can I use that? I connected it for a few seconds and it turned on but I'm afraid if in the middle of the gig it could blew out or something like that. Can you help me, please?
