Stage 3, Song Mode, and a Boss F6-6 Foot Pedal... Boom! Holy Grail for a musician with a band that plays everything live. MIDI Program Changes from an iPhone or Computer won't cut the mustard! Can I get an Amen?

you can do the same and more with an ipad and an air turn pedal.PolishPrince wrote:Stage 3, Song Mode, and a Boss F6-6 Foot Pedal... Boom! Holy Grail for a musician with a band that plays everything live. MIDI Program Changes from an iPhone or Computer won't cut the mustard! Can I get an Amen?

Re: Stage 4 Song Mode ?
NS 3 Song Mode works fine for me, single button push to next song, up to 5 programs per song.

Re: Stage 4 Song Mode ?
I was at NAMM and spoke with Bjorn Leander who is one of the head developers from Clavia as well as 3 of the product specialists. They were all well aware of conversations on this forum including the frustrations with Song Mode, External MIDI, 1' drawbar etc. and were interested in learning how song mode was used and why it was still important. He explained that many NS3 users either didn't use song mode or were confused with editing and saving programs/songs while in song mode. I believe they thought that song mode was no longer be needed given that the the NS4 now has 7 parts and 2 layers. I explained that many users use including myself use more than 1 program per song and play in multiple bands or have multiple sets with the same programs and would prefer to have a system of organizing them onboard vs. using computer or iPad or having to reorganize their programs for each gig.
Fingers crossed that they will address this in future updates.

Re: Stage 4 Song Mode ?
Me too. And organise mode is critical. I may need to make changes to the setlist a few minutes before starting the gig, and i dont want to have to set up an ipad to do it.PolishPrince wrote:I would buy the Stage 4 in a heartbeat if that came throughition.SuperStage wrote:I was at NAMM and spoke with Bjorn Leander who is one of the head developers from Clavia as well as 3 of the product specialists. Re: Stage 4 Song Mode ?
This tracks with thoughts I've had since earlier days of the NS3, the first (and only) Stage version to have Song Mode. It also existed on the NE5 and I don't think any other Nords aside from NE5 and NS3. It's an incredibly useful feature, though there's complexity with it in terms of how the Song/Set List mode works within the memory limitations of the Programs that are being pointed to from this wrapper structure. Also, the NS3 Song Mode display leaves a bit to be desired, yet I'll take it over no Song Mode. A lot of people confused about what it means to "save" a Song vs. a Program, flipping between Song and Program, etc.SuperStage wrote:I was at NAMM and spoke with Bjorn Leander who is one of the head developers from Clavia as well as 3 of the product specialists. If Nord prioritizes Song Mode for NS4, I'd be more likely to commit to changing from NS3, though for now I am a very satisfied NS3 user and can still find new things that make the instrument relevant.
