After not being able to live with the 73 notes of the Stage 4 HA73, I'm back to a Stage 4 88. The official Nord case is just soooo heavy. I don't need that kind of protection. Don't need the wheels. I just want something lightweight for when I (rarely) move it, and do so myself and carefully. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm wondering if I can use this 3 pound Roland bag, the CB-76-RL.
Stage 4 88 Specs: 1282 mm (50.5"), 121 mm (4.7"), 349 mm (13.7")
CB-76-RL interior size: 1366 mm (53-13/16"), 125 mm (4-15/16"), 395 mm (15-9/16")
Seems like it would be a nice fit and so much lighter!

Re: Lightweight gig bag for Stage 88
Every bag I've had my NP2 and now Stage 3 in couldn't take the weight. Zippers broke, handles ripped, stitching gave out. I've gone to a Gator plastic case with wheels. It is heavy though.

Re: Lightweight gig bag for Stage 88
Yeah, I was thinking about that. Last thing I need is for the handle to rip off and the Nord crashes to the ground. I guess I may just have to deal with the heavy Nord case (that I already own.) Interestingly I have a CK88 with the Yamaha gig bag and it actually might work with the Nord. I keep it at another location but will get the bag soon and try it out. It's probably 1/3 the weight of the Nord bag and fairly well made.

Re: Lightweight gig bag for Stage 88
Watching.
I'm also looking for a light weight bag (with wheels) that fits for my NS3 88.
The original Nord bad is way too heavy - I tried it and sent it back. Didn't find a suiting bag yet.

I will not be able to test the Yamaha CK88 bag for about 10 days or so. But it's on sale at BH photo for only $130. I paid $200 and that's pretty much what it goes for everywhere. If you compare the dimensions, it's very close to the Stage 4 88. It's about 2" too wide, and an inch too tall, but that's probably not an huge issue. You might want to try it before the price goes back up.Klondyke77 wrote: ↑15 Aug 2024, 07:16 Watching.
