I don't hear anything out of the ordinary. Other than a lot of hiss in your recording.

Re: Notes playing twice/choppy/popping
Hi Gambold, I appreciate the reply!
Yes, I know there's alot of hiss. It was recorded straight from the keyboard to the mic input on my camera. Not ideal, I know... but it was the most quick and easy way to go about it. Sorry about that!
Anyway, I really don't mean to be rude, but in my last short video-example the second C-Note is clearly off... Just listen closely, with headphones if possible. The first C is perfectly fine, but the second is a definite double hit. The example after that, it's the 3rd time playing the C note that is "weird".
Again, it is not as bad as they can be (I've experienced way worse in my short time with the Piano 5), but it is clearly not a clean and pure note ringing there.
In the meantime I've also played the clip for a few family members and am somewhat relieved that they all hear it so I'm glad I'm not relying on the internet to help me out here, thinking that I must be going crazy .
In the end it's a big disappointment. In alot of aspects the Piano 5 is perfect for me, but now it is all packed up and ready to be returned. It's sad really, as I enjoyed the action and the uprights are really really good! But those weird double-notes just throw me off and make it a no-go for me

Re: Notes playing twice/choppy/popping
I can hear it. I suspect that this is something to do with the key contact for that particular key (it is always happening in the same key). I do not think we hear of many people reporting this kind of thing, so it must that key in your unit.
BTW, I suppose that you have the latest OS installed?
Why don't you get in contact with the vendor or the technical support?

Re: Notes playing twice/choppy/popping
I hear it too (the “C” at 0:10 min), and I have the same problem with my Piano 5, but it only occurs sporadically and only when playing quietly (e.g. during the beginning of the Moonlight Sonata 1st movement in the right hand).
I had noticed this from the beginning, but I didn't want to send it in for a check (it was already a replacement instrument because the first one had an extremely uneven keyboard). The problem is negligible for me in practice, but I also think that it can obviously occur with some devices. Fatar apparently doesn't make the best keybeds and Clavia doesn't have the best QC/final inspection (I had found 2 loose screws in my Stage 4).

Interesting that there is another report on this...
Is it always the same key?

Re: Notes playing twice/choppy/popping
In my case I would say yes: I notice it regularly with C#4 and F#4 - Moonlight Sonata
In most of the cases it happens when I play a note for the first time, i.e. when hitting the same key twice or in a short time again, it's OK. But it can appear later as well.
It seems to be a mechanical and/or "sensor" problem, or something is too "sensibly adjusted".

Re: Notes playing twice/choppy/popping
Thanks for the reply! I have updated it to the latest OS, but the problem occurred before and after the update... so it's definitly not that. Anyway, I contacted the vendor, send a link to the video and their reply was "we don't see it as a defect, but you can return the product nonetheless, if you like", so with a heavy heart, I opted to return it.Mr_-G- wrote: ↑21 Aug 2024, 18:28 I can hear it. Like I already mentioned, this issue really saddens me. I greatly enjoyed the internal sounds and the action was amazing. I liked it better than any other digital piano I've tried.
In comparison, I've tried a Korg SV2 with the Korg RH3 action and I don't nearly enjoy it as much. Feel mushy and sluggish in comparison.
I'm now thinking of getting a simple Yamaha P121 for home use and a Electro 6 61 to easily-carry to jam sessions. I just need something bigger than my Reface CP, but with great piano and EP sounds, while still being portable. The Piano 5 was on the brink of being too heavy, but still acceptable.

Thanks for chipping in and sorry to hear you've been having the same issue!Nordlicht wrote: ↑21 Aug 2024, 20:59In my case I would say yes: I notice it regularly with C#4 and F#4 - Moonlight Sonata

I guess it's a good thing that it doesn't bother you that much then
And I agree, I also think the sensor is somehow not optimally adjusted. can't explain it otherwise...
I think I've also experienced it with another note, but cannot recall which one, might have been an F, but the C#4 is the same as you mentioned, which I find a bit curious.
