Hi all! My first post - hoping someone can help me out. I'm auditioning for a band, and the departing keyboard player was very kind in offering to share his patches - but I'm having trouble converting most of them. His bundle is from a Stage 2 EX and I have a Stage 4. The programs view properly with the File Viewer, but only 2 of >10 of the .nsmp samples successfully converted.
To convert samples, I tried:
1. Nord Sample Converter v1.12 - usually dragging a .nsmp converts to .nsmp3 - but I get a "Decode error: Unable to open input file"
2. Nord Sound Manager v9.00 - with most samples, as expected, the error was "file extension for <file> (nsmp) is not supported by this instrument". But for two of the samples, it offered to convert "on the fly" and surprisingly worked.
I'm attaching one file that could be converted and one that couldn't. I'd be grateful to anyone who could help me sort this out!

Re: Issues Converting .nsmp
Hello, and welcome to the Forum! Based on quite a few discussions on the subject, I believe early versions of NSMP files convert fine (perhaps ones that the Nord file converter also works well on), however user-created NSMP files in the NSMP2 format, such as those created by Nord Sample Editor 4, are a problem. As you are a NS4 owner, I would suggest contacting Nord Support to report the problem. Piano 5 owners had the capability to convert such files up through NSM v7.62 I believe, but then the functionality was broken for them as well. In your information to Nord, tell them the problem can be recreated by creating a NSMP file with the latest version of Nord Sample Editor and then attempting to load it into a NS4 with the latest NSM. Good luck to you, this problem has existed for NS4 owners since its release. Take care.

Thanks for the reply! When I’m back in town, I’ll confirm I can recreate it per you said and report it - figure it helps the community when Nord hears about the issues and fixes it the right way rather than pushing users to find workarounds.
That said, I did work around it - found that the samples causing issues were from the Sample Library. They had been downloaded to my friend’s NS2EX, then uploaded back as a bundle - I read that this somehow breaks their ability to be converted. But upon just getting them straight from the Library on Nord’s website, they converted fine!
