New Nord Stage member here!
Good evening
I'm a new 2 day proud new owner of a nord stage 4.I have a question for those who use the reverb effects. When i change from a piano patch to another piano sound, on the reverb section I have to lower the dry/wet knob and increase wet in order for the effect to take place. At first when changing to the new piano sound when increasing to wet it doesn't do anything until i lower completely to dry and start going towards wet is when effect starts working, is this normal?
Also when changing from a layer piano sound to another at first when trying to lower volume level of pad on synth section or raising volume it doesn't do anything, i have to lower it first on the synth section and the start to raise volume level in order to work, is this normal?
What happens is that when i got my nord on ups box had a little torn on the side and wanted to make sure the instrument is working properly.
Sorry if my questions are awkward but this is my first time with a nord piano and i want to make sure everything is working properly. Thanks in advance for your support.

Re: New Nord Stage member here!
Hey there,
It seems to me that the reverb d/w knobs and the layer volume faders you described, behave a lot like "Pickup the current parameter's value to adjust said parameter".
What version of NS4 do you have?

Your NS4 is working as intended. It's called a "catch" behavior, you have to "catch" the current setting and then change it. As a result, your adjustment motion will start with a full twist. You'll come to appreciate it more when you're gigging .eliwwjd wrote: ↑27 Sep 2024, 04:41 Good evening

Interesting... my NS488 v1.4 "jumps" to a current parameter value as soon as I turn knob or move a fader. Do you know of a setting that manages this functionality?cphollis wrote: ↑27 Sep 2024, 13:59Your NS4 is working as intended. I have 2 other questions:
Is there a way i could configure quick access to the piano sounds i prefer?
How tough is our nord gear? i was told these instruments are made to withstand. I guess thats why the engineers at clavia made the corners in wood not only to look nice but also to withstand impact

Here is a demonstration of that:K3v7nm wrote: ↑27 Sep 2024, 16:41Interesting... my NS488 v1.4 "jumps" to a current parameter value as soon as I turn knob or move a fader. Re: New Nord Stage member here!
You can get quick access three ways: (1) a piano section preset (preferred, as it's reusable with other section presets), (2) a regular top-level program preset, or (3) using one of the Live buttons.eliwwjd wrote: ↑27 Sep 2024, 04:41 Thanks my friend! im starting to love this forum lol.

The Nord gear has been pretty bulletproof for me over the many years. Dirt can affect contacts and switches, occasionally you'll read about an internal ribbon cable coming loose -- but that's about it. The really old first-gen stuff is starting to experience power supply failures and similar.

Programs aren't necessarily meant to remain where they are. You can easily reorganise them to your liking.
As you always have 8 consecutive programs at your fingertips, you could regroup the programs in order to always have an acoustic, an electric piano, an organ and a synth pad at hand. Or all your acoustic pianos together. Or, like me, one page of favourite programs for rock, pop, jazz and latin. There are multiple systems possible only with program numbering.
