!!HELP!! What version of Program Manager works with Stage 2
!!HELP!! What version of Program Manager works with Stage 2
It has been awhile since I last posted.
First off, i apologize that this is probably covered elsewhere
but I am in a bind to get prepared for a show.
I have Windows 11 pro on a Carbon X1 and a Stage 2 OS 3.0 that I bought new.
It's always cased until I have a show or prep for one.
Program manager 7.82 was giving me problems.
Windows Security di not like the driver.
Turn off memory integrity was the note.
What?
Ok. The program is a bit older. The driver is too.
Nord must have already done something about this.
I updated the driver first
That was incompatible with Sound manager 7.82.
The program launches but I get nothing.
In Device manager
I see the Clavia 64 bit USB driver under Sound, Video and game Controllers.
I hear the typical connection Bonk! tone when I plug in to the Nord.
I have to load my gear into the truck in an hour.
I've burned too much valuable time on this.
What do i do?
If somebody wants to sidebar this go ahead and PM but it might be helpful for others when they search.
Thank you
If you know the answer, I owe you a beer at the very least.

Re: !!HELP!! What version of Program Manager works with Stage 2
Download and install the latest Nord Sound Manager 9.x, it includes the latest drivers for WIn11 and works also for your old NS2.
Re: !!HELP!! What version of Program Manager works with Stage 2
I ran the latest installer after my latest driver install saying it wasn't compatible with my old version of sound manager
Re: !!HELP!! What version of Program Manager works with Stage 2
it just sits there and says connect an instrument.
I am screwed. It's too late. Really it's too late for anyone because I am in the last time zone in America. (except Alaska).
At this point I need a hand from Nord I think

Exactly, you need to use NSM 9, so first you have to uninstall your older NSM and driver, then install the latest ones.
PS: do you have the latest OS version on your NS2?
Re: !!HELP!! What version of Program Manager works with Stage 2
Max,
Yes, I have OS 3.0.
This is the error I was getting with the driver.
More than a little worrisome.
It went on about contacting the manufacturer.
Basically, they said in a nice way, that Nord needs to fix this.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A driver can't load on this device
Security Windows 10
You are receiving this message because the Memory Integrity setting in Windows Security is preventing a driver from loading on your device. Here are a few options you can try if you want to be able to use this driver:
See if an updated and compatible driver is available through Windows Update or from the driver manufacturer.
If that doesn’t work, you can try turning off the Memory Integrity setting in Windows Security.
Warning: Turning off Memory Integrity on a Secured-core PC takes the device out of a Secured-core state. If you choose to continue using your device without addressing the driver problem, you might discover that the functionality the driver supports does not work any longer, which could have consequences ranging from negligible to severe.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway,
The show(s) must go on. So I had to make do.
At sound check I created something close to a electric Mandoline
with the synth and samples like we had to do with the Roland D-50.
Added some guitar cab and squeezed it as hard as I could with the compressor.
I doesn't sound right but got the job done.
So I am back to square one tomorrow.
Uninstalling all the Nord programs and drivers
Do a clean reboot.
Install v9 Nord Program manager.
Part of me was thinking
'This is just too old now to work with modern equipment.
Time to upgrade!!'
But the darn thing just sounds great. It kicks ass.
And it always just works.
i will update my results here tomorrow.
Thanks

Re: !!HELP!! What version of Program Manager works with Stage 2
That problem of Memory Integrity has been largely discussed here viewtopic.php?p=177864&hilit=Integrity, but the latest driver included in NSM 9.02 should have solved it (I use a Mac so I cannot confirm)
