Sorry about your clacky keys, but I think the shorter NP5 is a great instrument.
You're right about the keybed and velocity curves creating a great FTEC (finger to ear connection). You'll notice it if you MIDI it as a controller to your NS3, which I was doing before the NS4. Also agree that the sample synth section punches way above its weight in usefulness.
Stick with Nord?

So I've MIDI'd the NP5 to the NS3. Definitely better response from the stage 3, but also definitely not the same as playing directly on the NP5.
I'm sure with a lot more time and tweaking settings I could get them closer, but its definitely not as simply as just hooking up a weighted MIDI controller to the Stage.
It was definitely interesting have the two connected together. Stepping through the programs on the NP also incremented the programs on the stage, which created some very interesting sound pairings, since the programs are not organized together.
Incredibly rich sounding when both keyboards are being driving at the same time. But I guess that should be expected as, there are 4 piano engines, 2 organs, 2 sample synths and 2 full synths to play with.
