Hi everyone,
I see in my search a lot of questions regarding the modulated section of Frankenstein, I’m not even worried about that. I however would love some direction to a comparable synth sound for the main riffs and runs and solo before the modulation stuff. I think I just broke myself listening to hundred of sounds between my nord and Fantom and I’ve given myself a migraine trying to get something even close enough to tweak. Anyone ever do this song? Is it just me and some sort of weird blind spot? Any advice?

Yeah. The name of the song was chosen as a result of all the studio work that went into the track. You're hearing an array of modular synths for the most part, along with organ and a few standard Moogs.wanderjoe wrote: ↑11 Nov 2024, 00:49 Hi everyone,

I've seen bands try it live -- even with two keyboardists -- and it usually sucks bigtime. So for me it's on that short list of songs that really can't be done well live for 99% of bands.
Your best bet would be to assemble an array of software modular synths on an iPad and get busy with programming.
I think I have gear issues ....

I worked a show running sound/lights for Edgar Winter at the Santa Cruz boardwalk Coconut Grove in the early 80's. Only one keyboard player. Edgar had a modified keyboard attached to an Arp 2600. You can see the controller in this video
Current Gear: NS3C, Alesis QS6.1, QS7.1 & QS8.2, Hammond B3 with Leslie 122, Yamaha CP70, Yamaha C3 6' Grand, Roland D-05, Roland AX-Edge, Waldorf Blofeld Keyboard, Behringer Arp Odyssey

Yes it’s totally playable, but I lack the any synth programming skills to cook the arp sounds myself and there are no presets or guides that I can find. It’s kind of crazy to me considering how as a keyboard player I idolized this song. I would have thought there would have been more content dedicated to it.
