PEDAL Sustain hold the last sound played
PEDAL Sustain hold the last sound played
How can I set the sustain pedal to hold the entire synth engine on the NS4, because if I turn off the synth or organ engine, the sound cuts off abruptly???? Is there any setting to fix this? I want to play a piano + PAD, turn off the synth engine, and the sustain still holding the PAD until I take my foot off the pedal. I real dont like this abrupt cut of sound when changing some sounds.

Re: PEDAL Sustain hold the last sound played
how about don't turn off the synth engine just set the synth volume to zero

I do not think you can. BTW, I do not know of any device that when switched off, it keeps functioning.

Look this video at 3:45...
So you can set kb hold, turn off the section or just the layer and use as a continuous PAD.

Re: PEDAL Sustain hold the last sound played
I believe this was an earlier bug that's been fixed. I have the latest OS with no problem sustaining after turning off the synth engine and still having control of the synth level until the sustain pedal is released.HOFMAN wrote: ↑17 Nov 2024, 07:32 How can I set the sustain pedal to hold the entire synth engine on the NS4, because if I turn off the synth or organ engine, the sound cuts off abruptly???? UPDATE: I should have checked the Google sheet NS4 Issues/Bugs List as I forgot I tested this back in October. I found that the problem is dependent upon whether or not the instrument is present in both layer scenes; if it is present, the sustain works after turning off the engine.

Re: PEDAL Sustain hold the last sound played
All pianos in NORD dont cut the sound when you switch of the engine. In my case some synths hold and other programs the organ works.
When I create a new programa using this base programs still works.
Try F84 you gonna see Synth and organ holdind when you switch off pressing the pedal, but the piano cuts the sound.
In fact this is a bug from NORD in my NORD version stage 4 73 V2.1 Rev B
Re: PEDAL Sustain hold the last sound played
Thanks for the information. I tryed a way to solve this, I have only to wait NORD with a new update.WannitBBBad wrote: ↑24 Nov 2024, 15:38This was an earlier bug that's been fixed. But i found a way: try F84 program in original factory OS, the synth and organ is working with the pedal holding the sound but the piano no. This make me possible to create a program with this function workin well for my live play.
For the moment was the way I found...

Re: PEDAL Sustain hold the last sound played
I tried a few programs and a created a couple more, and you're right, there's still a bug. I should have checked the Google sheet NS4 Issues/Bugs List as I forgot I tested this back in October. I found that the problem is dependent upon whether or not the instrument is present in both layer scenes. For any instrument, piano for example, if I have the piano enabled in layer scene 1 and not layer scene 2, the piano in layer scene 1 will not sustain if the piano is turned off. The piano will sustain if it's also enabled in layer scene 2. Similarly, if I have the piano enabled in layer scene 2 and not layer scene 1, the piano in layer scene 2 will not sustain if the piano is turned off. The piano will sustain if it's also enabled in layer scene 1. I submitted it as a bug with the desire that the instrument sustain irrespective of whether it's enabled in the other scene. Thanks for noting it.
