Nord Lead 1 midi connection with master keyboard

Hi I would like to ask a question about the midi connection between a Nord Lead One and an M Audio keystation 61 keyboard. In practice when I connect the Key Station keyboard to my Nord Lead with the midi cable I hear only a basic sound coming out with no possibility to modulate the sound with the knobs of Nord lead. How come? I thought that maybe the maudio keyboard was a little old. from about ten years ago, but it seems strange to me. Or I have touch something on nord lead but don't know which.Can you help me thanks?

Hi, it depends on which MIDI channel is the master transmitting i.e. which slot of Lead 1 it is controlling and which slot is selected on the NL1 instead, for example if the Keystation is sending on Channel 2 and controls Slot 2 but on NL1 you are on Slot 1 of course what you do on NL1 panl will not affect it.

Read carefully NL1 manual, particularly the paragraph about MIDI and the section "Using Nord Lead with a Sequencer" (which is valid also for an external master keyboard)
