Which Replacement Contact Strips for Nord Wave 2?

Post by jsrosenth »

Has anyone replaced the rubber contact strips in their Wave 2? I have a bad key and probably need to order a replacement contact strip. Are they the same ones as the Electro and Stage 3 Compact which are also dual sensor and waterfall keys? I usally order from Syntaur and it doesn't show compatibility for the Wave 2. Thank you

You may want to consult the Spare Parts List.

Edit: Sorry, your part doesn't seem to be included in the list - you need to ask anyway.

I have not been able to get an answer from Nord or from Syntaur yet. I cannot for the life of me know why they would use a different contact strip than the Stage 3 Compact (that has the same dual sensor TP-80 keybed with aftertouch) or the Electro series that uses the same contact strip as the Stage 3. I don't think there is anything different in the design but no answer from either party on what I need.

Before you replace the contact strips, I strongly recommend cleaning under the problem key. Debris under the key contacts is the most common cause of key malfunction.

You may need to disassemble your Nord to do this.
If you proceed with your own repair, remember to always touch the metal chassis of the Nord before touching any circuit boards or electronics. --This discharges any static electricity to the chassis and (hopefully) not through the electronics.
