COMPARISON NORD WAVE2 AND NORD STAGE 4
HELLO EVERYONE AND BEST WISHES FOR THIS NEW YEAR.
So, I looked a bit on the net as well as on the Nord site to try to really compare the differences that there may be between the Nord Wave2 and the synth part of the Nordstage4.
You wonder why? I'll explain to you a good month ago I bought a nord electro 6d for my concerts and I'm really happy with it and I ask myself the following question is it worth the cost to buy a nordstage 4 in 73 notes or to keep my electro 6d and complete it with a nord wave2? I understood that on the wave2 there is an additional layer but perhaps other elements that I can't see.
Thanks in advance to those who could give me a little help on the subject.
Very cordially to you Eric.

Re: COMPARISON NORD WAVE2 AND NORD STAGE 4
What kind of material are you playing? I've often said that the Electro is nothing more than a gateway drug for the Stage.
When players go to two keyboards, it's either to get more sounds -- or to get separately weighted actions. I'm in the latter camp -- my NS4C makes all the sounds (piano, organ, synth, samples, etc.) but I use a NP5 76 as a weighted controller.
Having a single board produce all the sounds makes programming and performing just that much easier for me.

I think I have gear issues ....

To answer your question, in fact I find that the electro 6 also has good piano, great organ sounds as well as synth samples.
Of course you are right, a single keyboard with everything in it is super practical, although in concert two keyboards are also great because for certain songs you can quickly navigate with its already planned sounds as well.
In fact I wanted to know if the Nord Wave2 is more powerful and has more things than the synth part of the Nord Stage4

You're welcome, inside that thread there is in particular a link to this comparison post from yet another discussion on NW2 vs NS4 viewtopic.php?f=11&t=19659&start=130#p169847

I work with the NS4-73HA and the N6D61 in combination... Can you specify your question?
... onstage since '78 on the endless (?) hunt for the perfect stage keyboard...
Current Gear: NS4_73 - NE5_73 - NE6_61 - Crumar7 - Yamaha PSR-SX900 / MX49 / MODX/ CK61 / YC61 - Roland Fantom-06 / VR-09 / RD-300GX / XP-60
Former Gear: ... too much...

Re: COMPARISON NORD WAVE2 AND NORD STAGE 4
My question is : I would like to know if the NS4 can replace my NW2 for synth sounds, I think the organ section and the piano of the NS4 are better as good or than the N6.
thanks for help

Re: COMPARISON NORD WAVE2 AND NORD STAGE 4
Well... The NS4 has not the full amount of NW2, since some direct access (ADSR) and the 4th Section ist missing... With that it´s a question what keybed you choose... I like the Hammer-Action-One, but if you like the more type-Synth-Wave (you see?)... I´d never tried to re-program any NW2 Sounds, but I am happy with the "Wave2-Options", the NS4-73 offers me... I don´t miss a thing (what surely depends on the NS4-Synth-Quality)... With that, I have a real good Piano and a realistic Organ, what the NW2 would never be able to offer... So you should not see it as a replacement, but as a "new" instrument... In your case - as I still have a NE6D61 above - I would like to keep the NW2 and save some money to get both keys... ... as I did with the NS4-73 and the NE6D-61...
The Piano Section of the NS4 is MUCH better - the Organ is quite similar (but for any reason I always thing, my old NE5 sound better/warmer)...
