Seeking Legit Rhodes Sounds for Nord Electro 6
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for authentic vintage sounding Rhodes patches for the Nord Electro 6. I’d love to find something that captures the true warmth and dynamics of a real Rhodes—ideally something beyond the stock Nord library.
If anyone has recommendations for solid user-created patches or third-party options that are legit, I’d really appreciate it. Willing to support great work.
Thanks in advance!
EO

Re: Seeking Legit Rhodes Sounds for Nord Electro 6
There are no 3rd party or User created patches that are going to perform/sound better than the Nord library, because the Piano engine (which includes all of the Rhodes patches is a locked proprietary sound engine. Meaning the only option for 3rd party sounds would be through the synth engine which is single velocity only.
A lot of the warmth/sound quality your missing from the nord samples is going to be more related to the semi-weighted keybed, which produces vary flat sounding pianos (piano, rhodes, etc).
The same samples playing on a weighted keybed will sound and respond very differently. This has been discussed in great detail, including posts by me discussing the differences in sound from the Stage 3 compact and my Piano 5 when using the same piano samples and how much of that difference is specifically related to the weighted keybed.

Try the patches of the NE6 signature sound bank from Ondre J Pivec https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sounds/si ... product=60 (you can learn a lot from how they are made and tweak them to your taste)

Thank you. If I am relegated to Nord only electric keyboards, can anyone recommend most authentic Rhodes sounds available. Admittedly, I'm new to the Nord world but I'm only seeing a few electric pianos.

Re: Seeking Legit Rhodes Sounds for Nord Electro 6
I rented an NE6 while my NS3 was in for repairs. Fell in love with the Stockholm EP in the NE6, and made room for the XL version in my NS3 when I got it back.
I can't comment on the differences in sound due to a semi-weighted vs hammer-action keyboard as noted by @cgrafx and others, because I didn't A-B the two instruments. Nevertheless, the Stockholm EP has become my fav.

Why are these sounds not available for the Nord Piano/Grand/Stage? It should be importable in every Nord Keyboard that has the Piano Module right? Am I missing something here?maxpiano wrote: ↑19 Feb 2025, 08:50 Try the patches of the NE6 signature sound bank from Ondre J Pivec https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sounds/si ... product=60 (you can learn a lot from how they are made and tweak them to your taste)

Re: Seeking Legit Rhodes Sounds for Nord Electro 6
You are mixing up patches and samples.
Samples (piano or synth) can be uploaded to every nord keyboard (with restrictions to older models), patches are combinations of layers, sounds and effects and are unique to each model.

ah ok ... so if i create a patch from lets say for example the Stockholm EP and put some effects and reverb on it and it sounds so good that i want to share this with someone, this would not be possible?

That would be a program/patch and it would only be sharable with other Nord keyboards of the same type/generation.
So if you did this on a NP5, then it would only be sharable with another NP5.
The base sample is sharable with pretty much any Nord keyboard (with some limitations for sufficiently older generations)

This, otherwise what you can also share is a description of your Program (which sample was used and any other relevant settings, like Dynamics, EQ, FXs etc...) in a text form, so that owners of Nord models other than yours can try to mimic it on theirs.cgrafx wrote: ↑Yesterday, 10:35ah ok ... so if i create a patch from lets say for example the Stockholm EP and put some effects and reverb on it and it sounds so good that i want to share this with someone, this would not be possible?
