Re: Nord Stage 2: Bank select and Program change (MSB + LSB)
Thanks to both of you :
* for the formula to get the PCC : (PAGE-1)*5+(Program-1)
* I'll check that my AX7 slot is in the "LOWER" layer mode (this is the only thing I see where I would have missed something) !

Re: Nord Stage 2: Bank select and Program change (MSB + LSB)
The behaviour is still strange : sending live CC works.
But saving LSB/MSB configuration in a patch on the master keyboard does not make the NS change (eventhough the NS seems to change quickly to the desired location, then gets back to the present patch).

Are you sure your master keyboard isn't sending its own program change message without you knowing it? I've had this issue with the sequencer on the Roland Fantom G but also with Ableton Live.cookie wrote:The behaviour is still strange : sending live CC works.

I would record the program change messages I needed to a MIDI file, which sometimes worked fine, but not always. As it turned out, simply starting the sequencer was already enough to have the sequencer send its own program change message, which would 'collide' with the one in my MIDI file. Until I discovered what my problem was, I worked around this by delaying my program change message in the MIDI file slightly (say 100-200 millisec).
I think this is what happened in the case of my Fantom G: I'd create a MIDI track (external MIDI instrument), which had an associated MIDI channel, LSB+MSB and program number. Using that MIDI track, I would then send my own program change message. When you'd start the sequencer, the Fantom would immediately send a program change message to every configured external MIDI instrument (using the LSB, MSB and program values used when setting up the track) and it would start playback of any MIDI tracks in the sequencer. This resulted in the external MIDI instrument receiving two different program change message at almost the same time (the one configured for the MIDI track and the one in my MIDI file/track).
I wouldn't be surprised if more keyboards (with sequencers) work like my Fantom G did and I suspect something similar may be occurring for you. Another issue I've had is that some of the notes sent immediately after a program change would 'get lost' - it seems that some synth need a little time after a program change before they've set up the new sound and are ready. I saw this mostly on somewhat older (digital) synths and I try to give a synth about 50-200 millisec to get ready after a program change. This was especially noticeable when sequencing drum sounds, where the first hit after a program change would disappear.

For the record, this information is in the manual, page 61 I think.

Woops, sorry! Didn't see the second page. I was referring to MSB/LSB in the Nord manual, not the AX7.

Hi, anyone tried this on Stage 3? Is there a chance to switch Song mode patches as well?

Another solution: just print the included pdf page

Hi I wrote a macOS /Windows app for multiple Nord devices to Calculate the MIDI Programm number.
