Yeah, sometimes I miss an Arpeggiator, but the good thing is, not having it, it got me to practice playing fast arpeggi by hand thus improving my playing skills & speed.
But seriously, I don't think it is possible to integrate one. So for the moment I am looking for a module to go along with the NS that provides an arpeggiator, intuitive(as the NS) sequencer, and (possibly) a sampler. Haven't quite found what I would call perfect. Looked at the Eletribes, Yamaha QY series, SP404, MPCs but they are all too drum oriented and no arpeggiator as I can see. If someone got the perfect accompagnon for his Stage please let me know!

One thing I have always missed in my synths was a Tap/Tempo button. Now I have it on the Stage, but I'd love if it could have the other FX assigned to it.

+1 on Clav muting
but more importantly: A possibility so learn the value of a parameter that does not have the LED-knobs without changing them. In particularly for EQ, Overdrive (Amp Sim and Leslie) and Resonance: If you have a patch you can basically never exactly replicate the values since cou cannot edit them on a PC and if you turn the wheel it immediately jumps to the new value where the potentiometer happened to be located. So e.g., assigning SWITCH+Turn the know could just show the actual value (I think this was also discussed in the Yahoo group), but would really be valuable IMHO.

Totally agreed. I found out this issue a week ago, and it seemed natural to me that if I pressed shift button before turning the knob it would show me the actual value (same as when you hold it while pressing the pacht button it tells you the sample it's using). I'd rather they fixed this to be directly editable from the keyboard, and not releasing an editor for this. One of the great points of the Stage is the ease of sound editing with all the values in front of your face. Not having to surf through menus is a plus!

As for the clav muting, I don't get what it is. What do you mean?

Hi,
Clav muting is referring to the feature on the original (I can here speak only of the D6) CLavinet: It has a slider on the right hand side which is used to apply a big macho strip of felt to all the strings close to the bridge (like where a guitarist would mute his strings with his hand). When activated, this makes all the notes very short and plucked-sounding. IT would be GREAT to be able to control this effect using the MOD wheel!!!

Another issue however, I played the NE3 recently and while I very much prefer the layout and menu of the Stage, I really liked that it had an PARAMETRIC MID EQ, i.e. you could set the frequency of the MID level EQ!!! That is really great for advanced SOund tweaking and moreover allows some nice SWEEPS with the Piano sounds. No idea why this feature did not make it to the Stage. Like, using the MID EQ know with SHIFT could control the frequency.

People say the Clavinet is superior on the NE than on the NE37Stage possible for the missing EQ feature, but I am not sure, someone got an opinion on that?

Hi!

Did a lot of Synth tweaking lately and I agree that it would help if the value that is stored in the program is somehow displayed
but because the shift button -with some of the knobs- already functions to switch between things - this could be a problem

An alternative could be: to display the value that has been stored in the program next to the current value when you turn a knob
However, when you're switching between panel A and B a lot - you still could run into trouble with this solution.
Maybe after switching between panels it should display the value as it was before switching panels, instead of the value that is stored in the program,
or even better, show all three: programmed value / temporary value / current value -
"temporary value" is the value as it was when you switched to the other panel, and displayed once you return to that panel and turn that knob
(ok, this might be a bit over the top for the small display)

another suggestion for a new OS: to store the vibrato settings per program instead of globally
- and maybe for a new Stage model: two vibrato knobs instead of the button - to set frequency, depth, delay and ... whatever

another suggestion: the option of a glide with a constant time - instead of a constant speed

Albert
