Tired of waiting for the LESLIE STUDIO 12 to be available thru Sweetwater, i just bought the 2101 . I had considered the Leslie 3300, studio 12, as well as the Motion Sound Pro 145 and the Kbrd-3d. But the Studio 12 has no audio out, and at 85 lbs, it would REMAIN in my Studio. Same with the 3300. The Motion Sound stuff isn't built very well ( i used to have a Pro-3x , and i r'd it in damaged condition , I sold it when i got my Nord C2, as i had had my fill of leslie sims. i know about the Vent, but i wanted the real thing, not just another Sim, good as it may be. I have plenty of keyboard amps, including a sub-woofer, and i don't feel a need to buy powered speakers,i''ve used them, and , to be honest, i'm perfectly happy with my Roland c350 and the Kcw1 sub. to my ears, this combo has worked well on gigs, and with the sub, i have plenty enough bass . I'm not real techie , even though i've read the 2101 manual at least 20 times . i like simplicity, don't want to have to bring a separate mixer, and if there is a pa available, my existing set up will be more than good enough.
Any leslie 2101 owners out there. i'd love to hear people's ideas who have tweaked this unit to their own satisfaction.

This thing is sweet ! It's hard to realize that this model came out in 2002 . It does not have the tube pre-amp of the Mark II, but the digital tube overdrive of my C2 (ver1) is convincing enough to get the ' sound'. I am glad i never upgraded to 2.0, as i always loved the original overdrive on the nord. Of course, one can always use a tube pre amp ( Speakeasy, for instance) but i am weary of long signal chains, additional power cords and little and big wires . I rarely use the overdrive on the 2101, i prefer the convenience of the nord onboard drive, and it came out 7 years after the MKI . The moving air of the unit is both convincing and beautiful. I did not get the vent because i prefer the moving air. I also midi out from the nord to the leslie, enabling me to use the vastly preferred Roland rotary pedal to the Hammond footswitch provided with the unit . At 50 lbs, the thing is movable enough for gigs . between the mk1 and the roland kc350 ( i know, people on forum HATE that amp) i get what passes for a sufficient Bass response from kicking bass on the pedalboard ( Roland PK7a). I got it for $800, and saw 2 more on eBay for the same price (or lower).
