New Nord 3 - fantastic piano - midi w/o suitable organ
Hi there, just played the new NP3 ... the piano features are awesome ...
But ... in case you may need an organ ... the available midi sounds are (...no comment ...)
Just saw in this forum a sampled organ sound for the NP 2 ... however I am
not experienced how to change or implement new sounds or sampled sounds on a nord piano ...
If anybody has a good suggestion how to get any acceptable organ sound to the
NP3 I would purchase it ... or do I have to wait for the NP3 Stage ?
Thx in advance ...

Not, "MIDI sounds", perhaps you mean the single layer samples? You can change those for whatever you want, even create your own with the Sample Editor.
For "already there" samples, visit the sample library at the Nord site. You will need to download the Sound Manager and with it you can move, delete and load new samples to the instrument.
Do not expect a single layer sample to compete fairly with a full blown organ emulator.

Re: New Nord 3 - fantastic piano - midi w/o suitable organ
Please note that the NP3 was not designed to provide a meaningful level of organ functionality -- it is for those who do not need/want organs. Those needing organs should be looking at Electro or Stage models, or the C2D.

Re: New Nord 3 - fantastic piano - midi w/o suitable organ
Thx for quick feedback
... saw now some other posts here about "missing organ sounds" ... and don't understand this "Nord sound offer strategy" ...
The current organ section of an EX Nord 2 and other NPs compares as excellent as the new piano features of NP3 ... why not a simple Midi extension or some acceptable simple layer sounds ...
@ Mr_G
Will check the sample libary ... suppose that I can "listen" w/o bying a NP yet ... may be not ... than no deal for me ... unfortunately
@ pablomastodon
I know ... but simple organ sounds available in the Mac G-band Midi libary or in any other much cheaper digital piano
should be available for such an expensive instrument ...
Merry Xmas

That's your personal opinion but there is not necessarily a correlation between price and variety of sound content, each instrument's target and features are the the choice of the manufacturer and public, so the customers (should) know what the instrument does and does not and can decide whether it fits their needs or not.pianonoorgan wrote:I know ... but simple organ sounds available in the Mac G-band Midi libary or in any other much cheaper digital piano

Yeah ... that's my personal opinion ... and I will wait for more organ sounds ... check the Hammond in the libary ... not so bad ... other organs are for praying but not for R&B etc. ...
All other sounds are really great ... but 8 organs are ...
thx anyway for your feedbacks

Sure, but consider also that you can sample your own Organs (or convert public/free or commercial .wav sample sets of Organs) and build .nsmp files for the NP3 with the Nord Sample Editor. It is easier than you think and particularly for simple sounds like Organs.pianonoorgan wrote:Yeah ... that's my personal opinion ... and I will wait for more organ sounds ... check the Hammond in the libary ... not so bad ... other organs are for praying but not for R&B etc. ...

Re: New Nord 3 - fantastic piano - midi w/o suitable organ
If organ is important then maybe look into the NS2EX which is quite a different instrument, more flexible (2 pianos, 2 organs 2 synths).
If you believe the annual gossip that the NS3 is imminent (no, nobody really knows; we hear this every year between this time and the NAMM and Musikmesse) wait a bit to see if that happens and what advantages it brings. It might be a major step up or, if not, you might find the NS2EX cheaper if the NS2EX becomes 'discontinued'.

Re: New Nord 3 - fantastic piano - midi w/o suitable organ
Not to mention, trying to play organ parts using a weighted acoustic piano action is an exercise in frustration.
I think I have gear issues ....
