Re: NS3 Velocity and General Sound vs NS2
This is just for fun right This not "scientific" like the other ones, but at least is some music played with minimal feeling.
I played this little improvising (sorry the about some wrong notes) on both keyboards through the Same keyboard. Which is???
Which one you guys like more and who guess which one is NS3 or NS2. A/B or B/A?
[Now audio files working] Here´s the MIDI file if you want to play it (and post) from your keyboards

Hi Copia, seems you're the only daredevil on the forum It is all First NS2, then NS3. Except for the bright grand chords, this is NS2-NS3-NS2-NS3, so definitely not bad, 50% right score .

1: Stage 3 // 2: Stage 2

I have no idea. [Edit: If I had a gun to my head, I'd say 1: Stage 2 // 2: Stage 3]
1: Stage 2 // 2: Stage 3
How'd I do?

I understand I have to play....aureliopenna wrote:This is just for fun right This not "scientific" like the other ones, but at least is some music played with minimal feeling.

So you basically played the same midi file (recorded on 1 keyboard) through NS2 and NS3, correct? In that case I believe you physically played it on the NS3 keyboard and sample A = NS2 / sample B = NS3.
curious....

Alright... One more "quiz"... which one you think I was listening as reference when I played? This is what I really find curious..Streef wrote:I understand I have to play....aureliopenna wrote:This is just for fun right This not "scientific" like the other ones, but at least is some music played with minimal feeling.

I'm not sure I fully understand, but if the idea is that, for one of these two, you were listening to the board as you were playing it, I would say that would be example B.

Re: NS3 Velocity and General Sound vs NS2
Haha, well 50% isn't great either. It's what I should average from guessing. But I guessed 3/4 Stage 2 first, so that would be 75% right, wouldn't it? Or 2/3 with my noncommittal guess removed. Unless I missed what you're saying. Either way, thanks for the ear challenge. I enjoyed it!Streef wrote:Hi Copia, seems you're the only daredevil on the forum It is all First NS2, then NS3. Re: NS3 Velocity and General Sound vs NS2
I think you played and listened to the NS3 when recording the midi file. I believe if you would have recorded using NS2, the result played-back on the NS3 would be bad (way too loud).aureliopenna wrote:Alright... Re: NS3 Velocity and General Sound vs NS2
Back to velocity curves, it seems that for trained pianist it will be very difficul to play dynamically on Nord Stage 3 HA88 with current velocity curves?? Is that right? Every increase of KBD touch to 1,2,3 will only make keyboard less "interactive" in dynamics...is that the issue? Have anyone some respond from Clavia if it will be fixed? I am considering to buy Stage 3 88 but I am pretty scared of that velocity "problem"...Pianists really need "hard" response from keyboard. If they want to play fortissimo they want and know to put fingers very hard and opposite to pianissimo...with actual velocity curve even set to 0 it seems that you will hear fortissimo sound even if you don´t play very hard...I have no chance to try Stage 3 88 anywhere around... real piano player should need KBD touch to set to -1, -2. Not to +1 , +2, +3 ... Are there any experiences from "real" piano players? Did I understood discussed issue?

Re: NS3 Velocity and General Sound vs NS2
Hi ChillOnTheSun,
I would not buy NS3 -88 without trying it first at the shop. It does not play in any way the same as a Nord Piano or the Nord Stage 2-88

Re: NS3 Velocity and General Sound vs NS2
The keyboard of Stage 3 88 is more improved than Stage 2EX88, the weight and the type is just the same, is it problem only in velocity curves which are "lighter"?Streef wrote:Hi ChillOnTheSun,
