I agree with @Maxpiano, it is very possible the jack may have taken physical damage or have some internal defect. They're not difficult to troubleshoot, but require some modest electronics repair skills and good equipment. If you're capable, troubleshoot it like any headphone amplifier problem. If not, take it to someone who is!
