List of Nord Stage 3 known issues/bugs
Re: List of Nord Stage 3 known issues/bugs
For me the midi Problem seems to be solved with 1.14 but comes again with 1.26 shame on Nord!

Re: List of Nord Stage 3 known issues/bugs
I'm not sure if that particular problem was completely solved in 1.14, so I don't think 1.26 is worse than 1.14 -- but hopefully 1.28 will be better At least one of the (long standing) MIDI bugs has been fixed now, it says

Re: List of Nord Stage 3 known issues/bugs
I would like to comment on the #10-Sustain release not sent after program change or disabling extern Bug.
I've added this to the spreadsheet but I thought I'd post it here as well. This is the expected behavior now from the Stage series. I raised the issue with Nord way back at the launch of the original Stage 2-non EX, and was told this was the expected behavior and was not going to be changed. It did respond like this in the original Stage Classic I got in '07, and was a huge letdown for me coming from that unit to the Stage 2, controlling a Yamaha Motif ES Rack. Stuck notes every time. I'm not sure why it changed, as the code was in there already for it to work like that from the previous rev.
I'd love for it to come back (as I would the Synth section Unison detune being mono as in the Stage Classic), but I wouldn't hold my breath. It's not a bug in their eyes.

Re: List of Nord Stage 3 known issues/bugs
I just purchased my first NORD.... a STAGE 3. It will be delivered tomorrow. I am excited to get started with it. Have downloaded all of the tutorials; manuals, etc. This unit, I understand will be a bit different from my current KORG Kronos and previous Roland Fantoms which I still own.
I am a little concerned/scared about my purchase. The Stage 3 wasn't cheap. When I look at the NORD Stage 3 updates for the operating system it is showing a STAGE 3 update for OS V 1.28. When getting a new keyboard, I typically update it to the latest operating system version.
However, when I look at the NORD STAGE 3 forum comments and threads, I am seeing problems with the lastest c OS V 1.28 operating system. Typically an update fixes previous bugs. It doesn't escalate additional unit problems that where previously corrected on prior updates.
So which is it? What should I do? leave the existing OS that was loaded in the unit alone when unboxing? Confidence level is waning given I am seeing other users having basic problems with their volume pedals with version 1.28 having to revert back to OS 1.26.
Other new Users are returning their newly shipped units back to vendor they bought it from. I would prefer to have a stable unit to play the killer piano, B-3 and even some Synth Sounds. . That was my original intent to go with NORD STAGE 3 from the beginning .
While I can appreciate the list of bugs that are identified during the STAGE 3 shakeout period; which OS version will give me the fewest problems as I have Dec and NYE gigs coming up within this month.
Thanks to all for this NORD Stage 3 Forum as I am a NEWBEE To NORD but still excited to play a NORD.
Best, Knuckles .

Re: List of Nord Stage 3 known issues/bugs
It is best to use the latest firmware.
If you find an issue with a past firmware, you’ll have to update to the latest to confirm if the issue exists before contacting Nord support.
If the volume issue is not a concern to you, you should update to the latest firmware
Best regards

Re: List of Nord Stage 3 known issues/bugs
@Knuckles: Use the latest OS (1.28 at the time of writing). The only bug that has accidentally crept back in (as far as I know) is the volume pedal bug, and if you don't have any programs set up already to use it, you will easily be able to work around it (in quite many cases): Assign a morph on the volume of (all) instruments to the control pedal, and just use the control pedal instead of the volume pedal. If you play with two pedals and cannot move the function to the wheel, it may be more difficult, though, so of course the volume needs to be brought back to work.
I didn't notice the bug myself, as I have assigned the swell pedal and a control pedal to the two pedal inputs -- this allows me better control of the organ (swell is more authentic than volume) and also to fade only selected the instruments (e.g. strings behind pianos). And if I need to fade all instruments at once, I just use the volume knob

Oh, just upgrade unless there's something very specific that you think isn't okay. I play mine daily and love it. I'm running the latest OS and usually upgrade the day one comes out. I have previously owned a Piano 3 and Lead A1, and still own a Lead 3, Rack 3, and 3P. They've never bricked me but things can and do change. That's the beauty or the curse of analog modeling synthesizers, which are half a big pile of software and sound so lovely.

Re: List of Nord Stage 3 known issues/bugs
Hi friends,
I have a Extern Section Issue. I need help and wrote the bug (?) to NORD.
Maybe you have an Idea/Solution
I play the NS3 compact, OS 1.28. It´s about the extern section.
I control extern device (Yamaha MX49) with Panel A ch 1 and Panel B ch2. So far so good. Sustain pedal messages are sent and are working for each Panel. But I need to layer both panels A and B. That works too, but the sustain pedal in Panel B ist not working then. When I just play the Panel alone It reacts to the soft button SUSTPED, but the Sustain Pedal in Panel B does not react in case I use bose Panels. That sould be a bug I think.
Thanks.
Helmuth

Re: List of Nord Stage 3 known issues/bugs
hello, I also encountered problems in my NS3 that I reported yesterday on the official website Nord and still had no response from the Nord assistance, in the meantime I also reported on the google sheet. I want to report here too the problems I encountered.
1- swell pedal and Ctrl pedal problem: If I use slot B in dual kB mode, the swell pedal does not work, it does not send midi parameters to the connected keyboard and destined for slot B, if I play the organ section directly on the NS 3, the Shell pedal works correctly.CTRL Pedal (EXpression) does not work, either in dual KB or directly on NS3.
2- Midi controls problem: MIDI CC 11 Ctrl Pedal (expression) and all effects controls from MIDI CC from 82 to MIDI CC 119 (enable 1, type eff1, source eff.1, amount eff.1, eff.1 rate, eff. 2 Type, etc. .. etc. .. etc. They do not work, NS3 does not receive the midi controls assigned by the midi keyboard in which it is connected.
have you found these problems too?

Re: List of Nord Stage 3 known issues/bugs
Hi
I've just received a Nord stage 3 in replacement of an Electro 5.
Is it normal to have a higher level of hiss from the headphones ? The volume knob doesn't affect the level of hiss. It's just there when the Nord is On, especially when the screen switch on. Using the same headphones, I've got no hiss from another device, like my sound card for instance. Could it be an OS issue ?
Thanks
