Do we know for a fact that Kawai was the OEM source for Kronos's keybed? They're not actually styled/spelled the same: RH-3 vs. RHIII...

As far as I know, they're different actions from different manufacturers. Nothing to do with each other except similar names.

It’s the tweaked version of the action in the well regarded Kawai VPC1...

Not at all, as discussed previously it is most likely derived from the keybed of the MP7 (RH III while the VPC1 uses the RM3).

Right, and you wouldn't expect it to be the VPC action, as that model weighs 65 lbs with very little electronics in it. It is based on the Kawai RHIII. (And not the Korg RH3.)

My bad... Kawai likes to use very similar naming conventions
VPC1 = RM3II
Nord = RHIII

Are you sure? I think it is closer to 29%, at least 28.79% ...

Is that metric percent or English Standard percent?

I went to a Kawai store today and played the RHIII...

And, I was not sure if I liked it or I disliked it.

It was sort of hard to tell because I was listening to a Kawai sample and not a Nord. The action was fast and somewhat light, but it also was a little bit springy. In an artificial kind of way; sort of. Does your MP7SE feel that same way too +PianistDallas+?

I can see how this action would allow jazz players to scream on it since it did bounce back quickly. But that is not the way a true grand responds. Maybe it should really be called the Nord Performer and not the NG?

If you have an RHIII action let us know your thoughts. :)

Or better yet if you have the time and it is convenient, go play an RHIII and report back your thoughts, please. I am torn on its feel. At least for me and my abilities to play it like it is a grand piano.

It's probably best to play the Nord version as it appears not to be the exact same keyboard. And the connection between keys and sound makes a huge difference in how it feels too.

So I would be very cautious and not judge the Nord Grand on how the kawaii plays.
