Hey guys! Just got a Stage 3 & am also finding the action way too heavy for me compared to my Stage 2EX. I checked Syntaur and they only have 7 KYSP27 springs available — is there any where else I could get them? Wondering if it's possible to just switch the entire keybed from my 2EX to my 3 or if it would be better to switch out all 73 springs instead.

Hi Zyrous888! Not sure if it's still possible but I would love to order a new or used set of fatar replacement springs — is this something you could help me with?

For posterity, I’m posting on this old thread my experience changing the springs on my Electro 6D. I read that the M-Audio Keystation 61es had compatible springs that would offer a lighter feel to the Electro. I can happily confirm this. I bought a used Keystation 61es for $40 and exchanged the springs on my Electro. Before and after changing the springs, I stacked coins on a few keys and measured how far the key depressed. The same stack of coins on the original Nord springs depressed the key 7mm while depressing 10mm on the new springs. The new springs are significantly more comfortable to play. The action now feels better on the organ AND the pianos. The keybed is still not quite as easy as a Mojo 61 but much improved.
Attention Nord: weighted action and stiff action are not remotely similar. Stop making your keyboards stiff. It doesn’t make them more like a piano. Just a worse organ.
If anyone has any leads on springs even lighter than an Keystation, hmu.

I know of someone who changed out all the springs on his Nord Stage 3 to a less stiff set of springs. I don't know where he acquired those less stiff springs, but the result was quite good.

I just, after reading this thread, changed the springs on my NS3 compact. The springs came from two m-audio keystation 61es units that I found on the used market.
For me the result is perfect. Action is improved both for synth and organ sounds. For piano it’s at least not worse than with the original springs in my opinion.
I can also warn you all that the keystation 49es don’t have these springs. In fact, it doesn’t have metal springs at all so don’t make the mistake getting one of those for this.
I use my ns3 along with a hammer action MIDI controller so for me this mod is just great.
So thanks for the info here.

Thanks for letting us know!
Is there a video online how this is done? I would love to do this as well, I am just a bit scared I might wreck my Nord trying.
