Re: Vibrato sync across layers?
What I think it means is that it is probably a bug but they are not sure. And, it may or may not be fixable.

Re: Vibrato sync across layers?
If it's fixable on the main LFO then it should be fixable on this one too. In any case even the main LFO had this problem for me some of the time, but the vibrato one was 100% useless if more than 1 layer was active. I hope Nord will get around to addressing this.

Re: Vibrato sync across layers?
Just an update, I sent an e-mail about this problem, on both the vibrato and main LFO's (main is random, vibrato is constantly out of sync.) I received a response back that it was forwarded to Nord, so perhaps it will be looked into if nothing else. I really hope this gets fixed...had to trade it for another synth in the meantime but would absolutely own one in the future if resolved.

Re: Vibrato sync across layers?
Old thread, but still an unsolved issue.
I’ve just bought a Wave 2 and noticed quite fast that the vibrato isn’t in sync when using more than one layer. It sounds like buzzing bees.
When using the LFO for creating vibrato it sounds as it should (but consumes the only LFO there is).
Any news from this construction site?

Re: Vibrato sync across layers?
Well, we waited 21 months for the last update so I doubt we will see anything soon to resolve this issue. There are others as well, but I have learned to live with them, as I don't expect there will be another update. The focus is always on the Stage and Electro, as those are the best selling products.

Re: Vibrato sync across layers?
It would be interesting if the vibrato in the Stage 4 works the same ("wrong") way as in the Wave 2?

Re: Vibrato sync across layers?
My guess is that it does, as the architecture of the Stage 4 is based on the Wave 2. If it doesn't, then it should be an easy fix-Nordlicht wrote:It would be interesting if the vibrato in the Stage 4 works the same ("wrong") way as in the Wave 2?

Re: Vibrato sync across layers?
I agree it most likely works the same way on the Stage 4, but it would be nice to get a confirmation on this. I can't recall seeing any Stage 4 users mentioning it, but it is a pretty noticeable bug...
Even with the main LFO I was able to sometimes have it go out of sync across layers. But normally it does work. Strangely it seemed that the main LFO would only go out of sync on certain combinations of waveforms and unison settings so it was hard to replicate it consistently. But the vibrato LFO is always out of sync.
By the way, the vibrato LFO on the Nord Piano 5 does the same thing.

Is not possible that they want this always.skylerocean wrote:Does that mean it's the desired sound? It just sounds weird to my ears...DJKeys wrote:Recieved this response from Nord Support today. Looks like it is probably in the design:
Hi dj,
Apologies for the lack of response - still confirming a few details regarding this behaviour with Nord. I believe that this is something inherent in the design on the Nord Wave 2's synthesis engine. But I am waiting on a response to confirm.

The Nord Wave 2 doesn't have two-oscillator, in the same octave, layer configurations.
This forces you to use two layers to achieve a classic synth sound, which is truly absurd. Furthermore, the vibrato LFOs are not synchronizable, which is even more absurd.
