Yes there is -- see page 15.
>>>>The Piano and Synth effects can either be used individually per layer, or be grouped together – sharing the same settings – by pressing GROUP (Shift+Piano/ Synth).
For the Synth there are options for grouping just layers an and B together or all three layers (a, B and C).

Thanks, I was looking for more info like how you explained it. It looks like if you want to group two of the three layers, it has to be A and B.

So I had a really loose volume knob on my first Stage 4 compact. Sweetwater replaced it, and I’ve got 14 days to send the other Stage 4 back. Ridiculously great service. Stage 4 #1 is version 1.2, and Stage 4 # 2 is version 1.3. I thought the panel changes were the only difference in the two.. BUT… the 1.3 clearly and discernibly has less resistance to the keys. Version 1.2 (which I’ve had almost a month) is definitely harder to press down as far as the action goes. It feels like the springs in the 1.2 are a heavier gauge, and the 1.3 is also quite a bit quieter when playing. Really interesting stuff that I didn’t expect! You may also be interested to learn that factory restore backup rev.B contains different presets than the newest, rev. C. One notable example is that Dark Waters, which comes after Ghost Pad in the Synth Preset list, is absent from Rev. B and present in Rev. C

Thanks, good information for anyone looking for a lighter or heavier Compact action.

If you look at the ROTARY SPEAKER sections I can even find a change that is actually functional (and not just a design thing - that "long press triangle").
With the new REV B / Layout 2.0 you can safe CLOSE MIC or not per preset.
Also POLY under VOLUME SOFT is new. Click for every note, even if some are already pressed.
I seriously hope these things will be also available for REV 1.X... currently not.
To me it is kind of a promise, that you will get all functional updates - Panel revisions exist (however not really necessary already after < 6 months) - sure - but no matter when you bought a stage, you should get all functional updates.

Is it correct that someone with an earlier version of the Stage 4 can't do a long press on the buttons noted and get the same result?

No, they added that via an update! Just that triangle on the panel is new.
The long press is a second option next to SHIFT + button.
I'm talking about these two functions:
- possibility to store CLOSE MIC (or not) in a programm (see organ panel on the left)
- possibility to store (or even do?) the POLY PERCUSSION in a programm (see additional LED within the B3 PERCUSSION area)

Seems also the related leds on the panel are new (they are not present on v1.x) not just the text with the triangle.
Then maybe the functions will be supported on Rev 1.x as well, but in a less handy/visual way, i.e. long press sets the parameters but you will only see them via a menu (or some other way, e.g. making the existing button led blink)??

Panel version 1.3 + OS version 1.12 -> no effect when I try to activate "close MIC" or "Poly" with SHIFT or long press...
