Sorry, you’re right. The dual and multi saws are available on the wave 2.DJKeys wrote: ↑27 Jul 2024, 20:41The W2 has a number of Dual Saws in the Multi section detunable with the OSC control. It also has detunable saw and squares in the Super section.

It’s the mixable sub square, sub pulse, sub sine oscillators that are on the stage 4 but not on the wave 2. Those would be a very nice addition.

All the basic configurations that can be made on any 2-oscillator synth are missing.DJKeys wrote: ↑27 Jul 2024, 20:41The W2 has a number of Dual Saws in the Multi section detunable with the OSC control. It also has detunable saw and squares in the Super section.

Practically everything is absent, so an implementation of the A1 oscillator configurations would be appreciated.
It is impossible to be satisfied with the few configurations available in the Nord Wave 2, which are fixed and non-modifiable.

What do you mean by "practically everything is absent"?
Why would you own one?

Forgive me, but it's neither pleasant nor helpful to read responses like yours.
Clearly, you are unaware of the problems with using two different slots to have a two-oscillator synth in Nord Wave 2.
It's fine for you, but if you were well-acquainted with the instrument and the issues this configuration entails, you would approach this table discussing with a different tone.
Your condescending tone is not appreciated, so please, if you can, let's end this pointless controversy that is not helpful to anyone.

Re: Nord Wave 2 OS Update (Latest version: 1.24Released: 2024June21)
Okay guys - just stay calm. We need more peace in this world
and I would like to say something to this issue that maybe could be interessting...
In general, I´m afraid no firmware-update will solve this Oscilator issue, since the WAVE2 just don´t offer this possibility. But miracles happen again and again and the latest STAGE4-Firmware upgrade increases its WAVE2 48-polyphony to 56 without any hardware changes. So just let the guys at Clavia work on it - I trust in their Product-Care (otherwise i had' nt bought their product)...
Well - I don´t have the WAVE2 - just the stage4 with the little brother in.
I found the SAW-Sounds in all a little thin and checked the Stage3 with its A1 Synth, that offers me the SAW-Sound I like. There IS surely a difference when using the WAVE2, so it offers its own specific sound, that leaks a bit with the Super- oder Detuned-SAW. But however - with its weaknesses it also has strengths. To me the digital touch is clearer (more useful), while the "analog" warmth is poorer (but Unisono and FX helps). I tried to reproduce "may SAW-SOUNDS" with 2 Parts and different Unisono-Settings plus some detuning via Vibe or Chorus FX. The Result was a new and special Saw-Sound that I really like today and that I won´t like to miss, but not the one I intended.
What I like to say is, that the WAVE2 maybe does not all and maybe not what you´re looking for, but if you tweak around a bit, you come close
and in the end a good own Sample could solve the missing basic sound. Give it a chance...
I had the Stage3, Stage4, Electro5 and Electro6 here for testing (for any reason...) and I have to say, that all these different Models / Generation have their own characteristics, even if we´re talking about a mass production PBX. It is surely not CLAVIAs intention, to build different models, that do the same. I would say, even the different generations have their own characteristics (what i appreciate...) As it comes down to own just one model, the final point is: like it or don’t like it. You will not make the toaster brew some coffee and if the WAVE does not offer YOUR SAW-Sound, just replace it against an A1 or something! Life is to short, to use the wrong Keyboard - maybe your challenge to find YOUR perfect key has not come to an end yet...
With that, I found this video of Brother Marc interesting and helpful for this issue - maybe you find some help in too:

Re: Nord Wave 2 OS Update (Latest version: 1.24Released: 2024June21)
I have used up to all 4 layers to make any combination of oscillators needed. Genuinely curious what you find lacking in the oscillator section. I've had several complaints regarding the design before (mostly regarding LFO's) but I'm interested in understanding what you cannot obtain with the Wave which you can from the other models.miglio77 wrote: ↑31 Jul 2024, 10:37Forgive me, but it's neither pleasant nor helpful to read responses like yours.

The only thing I can think of is that if you need to layer or split 4 different sounds, you can't if you need to use up more than one layer on just one of them. And, of course, the vibrato does not sync up across multiple layers. But if what you are describing is not relating to either of those scenarios I am quite confused.

Re: Nord Wave 2 OS Update (Latest version: 1.24Released: 2024June21)
Regarding the differences between the S4 and the W2: There was added this "unison sawtooth (Multi Saw) with detune" to the Stage 4 with OS v1.20, and I think this is (still) not available at the Wave 2.
It offers two unison sawtooth - in one single layer - that can be detuned with the OSC CTRL knob. In comparison with the unison function the two voices are still mono and not automatically panned. This is similar to the osc configuration in the A1 (although there were much more possibilities in the osc section).

Re: Nord Wave 2 OS Update (Latest version: 1.24Released: 2024June21)
Is there any difference between this osc type and simply detuning a saw in layer B against layer A in the Wave 2? Seems they would do the same thing. Of course, having it as a pre-assigned configuration that only uses one layer is helpful (as it would be with the square and pulse waves also.) But if I understand correctly there is not a sound that this mode produces which is impossible to create on the Wave, right?Nordlicht wrote: ↑01 Aug 2024, 21:51 Regarding the differences between the S4 and the W2: There was added this "unison sawtooth (Multi Saw) with detune" to the Stage 4 with OS v1.20, and I think this is (still) not available at the Wave 2.
