Correct more or less, but you should check on NS3 MIDI Settings:

a) that MIDI Channel Mode is Shared (so you don't have to adjust it on every Program, unless you want so)
b) which channel is it Global MIDI set to (I assume 1, but better verify)
c) last not least, that Control Change Mode is set to "Send & Receive"
Thanks maxpiano. Settings are all in order as you described:

A) MIDI Channel Mode (in "EXTERN" menu) is set to Shared
B) MIDI Channel for EXTERN pg 2's menu is set to 1. Panel A: Shared
C) Control Change Mode is indeed to set "Send and Receive"

No dice so far. If the manual states that the triple pedal uses CC 66 and 67 for una corda & sostenuto (which, incidentally, is what Pianoteq has their respective pedals mapped to!)--is it actually possible that the Nord Stage 3 'eats up' the CC for its own internal programming with the samples, and it doesnt reach the MIDI out signal?
OK, but for (b) you should check GLOBAL channel in MIDI menu, not Extern.

Oh, I see, thanks. Yes, MIDI SETTINGS pg 2 shows all channels set to 1.

That is not OK, setting the same channel would create a conflict and disable it, try setting only Global to 1 and the other to something else.

Okay, I just set Global to 1, and the others to Off. No change in CCs

I finally had a chance to test on my NS3, with Triple pedal connected and MIDI Global set to 1 (Panel A/B and DualKB to OFF): all the corresponding 3 CCS (64, 66 and 67) are properly sent.

NOTE: I am on latest NS3 OS v2.62, are you on the same?

Have you checked also that Sustain Pedal Type is correct (TRIPLE) on your NS3?

PS: the funny thing I also discovered is that NS3 sends them regardless the setting of CC Mode (i.e. even when it is OFF or RECEIVE, the pedal CCs are always sent)

Well that's great news Maxpiano!! Great to know that's how it's supposed to work. Let me double check my settings.

Nord OS: 2.62
Sustain Pedal Type: Triple

So at the moment, it seems like the pedal might be defective. That's frustrating. I'll reach out to the seller.

EDIT: I'm also in correspondence with Nord's tech support. Will update in this thread what we find.

You may do a test yourself, with a multimeter (if you have one or a friend who does), to check what happens between Ring and Sleeve of the TRS jack of your NTP when you press the Soft or Sostenuto pedal: resistance should change, expected values are described in this discussion viewtopic.php?t=1883 (on page 3 there is a schematic I made which I report below too), if no change then pedal/cable is defective

Maxpiano you are a beast. Thanks for helping me through this whole thread.

Nord support ended up determining the unit is defective and are sending out a replacement. So in the end, it seems likely that there's just a connection issue. I'll spare myself from the multimeter tests since it's under warranty. Good to know it actually DOES send out MIDI CC on all three pedals.

FWIW, I own three NTPs. Two are broken after gigging with them, with no easy fix. I'm scared to use the third one :)

Can't speak to the NTP 2 -- again, I'm fearful to subject mine to hard use.
I think I have gear issues ....

I think the part which is more subject to wear/break is the cable + jack, I remember someone made a smart mod of the NTP by removing the cable and replacing it with a female TRS plug directly on the NTP body instead (so you can use any stereo cable with it and also keep a spare one, just in case), I can't find the thread but it is quite easy to do.
