Hi, the NS3 has nothing to do with that, it would be the same with any other synth: you have to check/learn how to "overdub" a MIDI track in Reason 11 (so maybe a Reason users forum may help you better or some NUF forumer using Reason)Weirdow wrote:Hi guys,
Still a rookie with my Nord stage 3. I need your help.
I use my Nord stage 3 through my DAW (Reason 11), and it works fine until I want to make some automation on a track already recorded; can't do that so far! when I press record it deletes automatically my track, so I can just do automation while I play and record, once it's done, and I want to add some automation here and there, press record, and it deletes everything. You see what I mean?
Are there parameters on my Nord stage 3 I have to make?
Thanks in advance:)

Re: Nord Stage and MIDI tutorial
Hi ! I'm new here and to music production in general and picked up a Nord stage Classic (revision B) for a bargain and i'm loving it deeply!
I cannot seem to download the Pdf file for this tutorial , there is NO download button to be found anywhere, i see folks having trouble finding it but im quite sure its not present at all...
I need lots of help actually with my setup being ; Nord Stage 1 , Mpc4000 (midi sequencer) , MOTU audio express 6x6 (interface) and my Macbook pro running Logic X.
All these machines are new to me and im looking all over for information but its a slow run , wish me luck !
Any help with the Pdf on this tutorial is very welcome!
Im mostly interested in just recording the Nord stage into the MPC with midi AND audio. I don't see the use in controlling other instruments with the Nord Stage yet ,I just want to play the sounds from the nord stage and be able to edit the midi notes or even change the sounds used after recording i can't seem to get it working.
greets from Belgium!

Re: Nord Stage and MIDI tutorial
If I remember well, the option to download the MIDI manual is only available for forum members. Which means: If you are not logged in, there will be no button anywhere even in the future. If you're logged in, all's fine.TEWEO22 wrote:I cannot seem to download the Pdf file for this tutorial, there is NO download button to be found anywhere...

Re: Nord Stage and MIDI tutorial
I think you found the most likely actual cause being always logged in I could't see that but I tried and it is exactly as you said; maybe this should be written somewhere in (each post of) the Downloads section, to avoid confusion since the links work even if you are not logged in and this is probably what happened to TEWEO22FZiegler wrote:If I remember well, the option to download the MIDI manual is only available for forum members. Re: Nord Stage and MIDI tutorial
Hi,
I cannot get the MIDI working from my Nord Stage 76. I have previously had it working, and I have been through your very useful and thorough guide, but to no avail. I inherited it from my dad, but do not have an accompanying manual.
I am hoping someone can tell me if the MIDI LED should be lit up? Presumably yes, but it isn't..
My PC seems to recognise the MIDI connection via Device Manager, and says that it is working correctly. The keyboard plays music through speakers via the jack output, though it does say "Piano Failure" on start-up. However, I'm sure it was saying that when I had it working previously. It has been in storage for some time since then, but stored well. I've checked the MIDI settings and I believe they are sensible. I would just like to be able to connect and play via Yousician to be able to start learning again! When I did so before, Yousician automatically detected it and I didn't have to do anything, but I also downloaded MixPad software which also recognised a USB MIDI device, but also picks nothing up when trying to record.
If anyone could give me any tips on what to check I would be incredibly grateful, as I'm at a loss as to what to try.
Thank you hugely in advance for any advice at all and Happy Christmas!

Re: Nord Stage and MIDI tutorial
You might want to try the Stage EX manual: There are only minor differences between Stage and Stage EX AFAIK.
The MIDI LED will only light up when there are incoming MIDI commands. So nothing to light up if you want to send MIDI.
You aren't saying anything about having installed the USB driver on your PC. What Windows version are you on?

Re: Nord Stage and MIDI tutorial
Hi FZiegler,
Thank you very much for your reply!
I am on Windows 10 Pro. Good to know re: Midi LED (y) I wasn't sure, but in the video tutorial for MIDI on Nord Stage I noticed that it was constantly lit up.
I have installed the following driver - Clavia USB Driver v3.02.4 Setup.zip
From here: https://www.nordkeyboards.com/downloads ... ge-classic
and I have tried removing and reinstalling, but to no avail.
Thank you again, I really appreciate your time and effort in helping me sort this and I hope you had a great Christmas!
