Yamaha DXR10. Sounds perfect, gives a lot and for a reasonable price.

Kinda spendy for me but I'm not a professional musician.

You do have a pro keyboard though so why not invest in decent amplification?
You may get good results with cheaper speakers - a pair of Alto TS210s would be the minimum I'd go for.

I have good studio monitors and I use them often. I just don't do live performances (since the 1970's). If and when I ever get back to that, I will probably get some nice speakers for live performance.

The wee stagepas 400 system was £450 all-in, (free stands even) plus it's a little pa which could surely come in handy.

You can even charge your phone from it!

Ok. When you said 'for live use I've tried many PA systems' I assumed you we're gigging with the Nord.

I use a pair of QSC-K12's for big stages and a pair of QSC- K8's for small stages. However, on the K8's, I have to put them on 2 amp stands to safely tilt them. For extremely small stages, I use my In Ear Ultimate Ear Triple-Fi's and run my monitor into the monitor feed of the keyboard. In my studio, I use Dynaudio Acoustics BM6A's.

Thanks for this great discussion! Question for the DXR10 owners: are you having good piano sound with a single DXR10 or are you using 2 boxes for stereo effect? Thanks,
Carlo

With one DXR10, the Silver Grand XL sample sounds a little jangly and tonally inconsistent. I go channel 1&2 into a stereo
input on the QU16 so I get stereo FOH and then I use a L out of of a stereo mix out into the DXR.
It's not a great piano sound with one DXR but it's probably as good as it's gonna get.
I do prefer Roland and Yamaha pianos sounds for live use as they sound clear, cut through the mix and mono sum better.

I've given up trying to EQ it as I find venue acoustics and speaker position affect the sound from gig to gig.

I always prefer two boxes for stereo but often only use one due to stage space. Also sometimes we use a DXR for vocal monitoring as they're more compact than our Laney ones so I end up going mono keys.
When I do use two DXRs, the piano sound is transformed.

The original plan was to find a stereo combo for convenience but that area of the market is limited.
