Hi,
Recieved my NS3 88 last Friday. Played for 3 hours that evening without any issues. Then last night I had my first gig with the NS3. The first set of songs went smooth. 45 minutes approx. Then on the 2nd song set 2 the problems started. All of a sudden the board restarted itself. Thought it was a one time issue but it kept restarting the rest of the gig. VERY annoying. Luckily my band mates could back me up when the failure occurred. And I couldn't see any patterns on the behavior. Sometimes I could play a couple of songs and sometimes several times during a song. Played hard, soft, less/more, change settings etc to see if it could be related to something.
My thought is that it has something to do with the power. I did not use the original power cable but that should not be that necessary right?! I switched to another power supply but did not help. Checked if there was any glitches on the cable but it seemed fine. Very strange that it worked flawless for 3 hours of playing my first evening at home.
Anyone else got similar issues? I will play this evening at home to check if issues are re-occurring and if that is the case I will for sure report it to Clavia.

Ouch
That sounds really horrible! Sorry to hear that.
I've played mine on a couple of occasions, typically the live playing lasts a bit more that a couple of hours in total, and I luckily haven't seen any restarts. Neither at home, where I've had the board switched on for extended periods (8-12 hours a day sometimes), partly to check if there would be any HW related issues that might show up during an initial "burn-in" period.
Did you upgrade to the latest OS (mine came with 0.92, others have shipped with 0.94) and we're now up to 1.04.
I would in any case report it to Clavia and discuss it with them -- even if you're right; unstable power could certainly be the root cause.

Hello
If you do not have any issues at home with your NS3, probably a power issue. You should play a couple of hours straight at home with it. I always use a ups for my keys since I had my Kronos. One more thing to bring to a gig but I feel more secure.
Nobody at the gig had any issues with the power, only you ?
Regards

Hey, i got my S3 compact now and i'm really happy with it.
But one thing bothers me. Maybe someone can tell me, if this could be a software bug or a hardware issue.
When i assign the wheel to morph something, the parameter is jumping around due to vibration from playing. I can also reproduce it by tapping on the metal near the wheel or even the wood on the right side.
When assigned to a volume morph you can see the value jumpin on the led. Others (like filter) are audible.
Thanks in advance!

Hello @Schulti,
I never had any issue with the mod wheel (morph) with my past NS2 and NS2ex.
I played on stage with a lot of vibration and never had any issues personally.
Regards

This is not something I've experience on my stage-- like @Daniel71. It is difficult to rule out a hardware problem in this case, so it's probably best to talk to Nord (Clavia) or your dealer about this.

It looks like a hardware issue... I have experimented the same thing with a wheel on my Nord modular G2, and the Wheel has been changed to solve this issue.

This happened to me at a gig with my old original nord stage at a gig, Nothing wrong with the board, most likely ithere were issues with the power supplied.
