OT: my light rehersal kit for tomorrow ...

I love the feeling of these keybeds!

JV-80 for Arturia Analog Lab 2, CME Xkey 25 (with AT) for Arturia Mini V3 - all I need for a noisy rock jam. 8-)
OK ... an Electro could be fine too. But I sold my NE3HP. The HP keys ... I kind of fell out of love ....

Nordlead 1,2(x),4, A1 (49): Fatar TP/7BA
Nordlead 3 (49): Fatar TP/9S, weighted
NordWave (49): Fatar TP/9S, unweighted
Nord Modular G2 (37): Fatar TP/9S
This is a very interesting piece of information, thanks!
Where did you get it from?

I briefly had a Wave and I remember being surprised by the keybed, it was way better than the 2X.
Never tried a Lead3, but if it's "weighted" it should be even better for expressive playing?

Just for sake of comparison, lately I tried out in a shop the Virus and the Minimoog reissue, and I thought they had the best synth action I ever played.
I think they too use some variation of TP8 or 9, do you have some info?

You're welcome! ;)

We collected those over the last years. "Gewichted" is weighted, "ungewichtet" is unweighted. The MM reissue also uses the TP9. Access used mostly TP9/8, only some Indigos use the TP7 as in the A1.

A red Nord certainly would complement the red computer and really tie the whole rig together.

Sort of like how Lebowski's rug really tied the room together.

It's hard to find a Lead 4R or A1R nowadays. So went to a store to look at the leads, I found a lead 4. If the A1 keybed is the same as the 4 then IMHO it's like a toy, a dealbreaker, horribly cheap for the price you pay and light years away from the keybed of the Roland D10 I use from 25 years go (many other brand synths in the store had horrible keybeds as well) so it looks like the NL keybed might be similar to other (cheap) stuff today. The definition of good and bad may have changed in that period. :-) and a good keybed might now cost multiple times more. Better go try one first or buy with the options to return it. Reason Nord should bring back the racks instead being forced to make space for a Lead with cheap plastic.

I would love to replace my NLA1 keybed with a TP9S because I use it a lot on stage.
But I'm not sure if it's 100% compatible, can anybody tell me, please?

It's definitely compatible on the connection side. It could be, that the screws are not at the same place. We had that on the Musiker Board, where a keybed fanatic wrote a lot about that. I will try to find that.

For a keybed you could also get a used Novation remote SL 49, swap the keybeds and sell it for some money back.

the A1 keyboard has got diving board keys and they feel a bit iffy (less tight than for instance roland A49 diving board keys) but they're perfectly precise and fast; have played out with it plenty and its not something that I even notice when gigging...

there are no internet posts that will help you understand the action of a keyboard go and try one.

Hi Duplobaustein, any more hints about this? It could be a nice and relatively easy DIY project: take an old Lead and swap the keybed. A used 2/2X can be found for cheap and it's still a great instrument, and Doepfer sells a 49-keys TP/9...

Sorry, totally forgot about that. Just asked the guy, usually he responds quick.

Maybe ask Doepfer? If they do not know, they probably have a direct contact with Fatar.
