How much do you guys pay for a 3300 where you live? Here in Australia they are the equivalent of $4000 USD.

Hi DazzJazz
I paid 2654.00. It was the best price I could get, the next being $2899.00 from a big chain. It included a 30' 11 pin cable. With taxes of 13% here it was just under $3000.00 CDN. Cheers Mike

The local distributor has a bad reputation for price gouging, can't think why though!

The seller (Jerker Antoni) who want to sell à nord c2d to me dont recommend to buy any leslie at all if playing nord c2d. He says that it is better to buy à real good pa for all that money. He says that the sound is identical and the only advantage with à leslie is if you like to move some air in the room.

I would say that leslie or no Leslie depends on what your prioroties are.

There is nothing that compares to a Leslie imo. The complexity of the reflections in a room can not be reproduced by a PA

If you are playing loud rockclubs with a miked Lelsie and if you are going to use a Rhodes sound o other sounds in PA then the PA route will work well.

If you are going to play venues where you would normally use a Lelsie and not go through the PA then I would go for the Leslie. The improvement in 3D sound is big.
I have tested to use the c2d in a church in a PA and it works fine but for my personal plesure maximation then I bring my 145.
If you want to go light then try the Motion Sound pro 145 that Jeker still might have in stock. I have a pro3 tm top with a lowpro rotor and it sounds surprisingly good. Specially when I add my cube 60 for extened bottom end.

Before buing gear I think the wise thing is to understand ones
Requirements of the system.
Where is it to be used.
Is sound top prio
Is portability top prio
And to realise that Sound and Portability are often in conflict.

Portability and space are things you have to have to look at. I cannot take the 3300 to all my gigs, as the stages just aren't big enough. I played this Friday past sans Leslie and sure missed it. If using miking for PA you are putting the effect into 2D out front, then perhaps its a luxury, but I find the 3D sound, and bottom end inspirational, and I seem to play better! :P

I totally agree on the inspirational aspect of Lelsie.
The sound makes you play better. And often you need less notes when you like the sound.

Do you like the leslie 3300w? The one in red walnut tree.

I have seen an used 3300w at the same price as a new 3300.

Is the sound the same?

3300 or 3300w?

I don't think that they are available in North America. From what I can see on the UK sites the insides are the same but I am not sure.
