It will be interesting if Nord decides to change the architecture of the next Electro to be the same as the Wave 2 and NS4.

Just imagine piano + Stage 4 organ + 1 slot of wave 2 with the Stage 4 effects!

Ah, unsourced proclamations. A hallmark of Internet forum posts. Prithee sir, how do you know this? An inside person at Clavia? An exclusive mailing list just for Nord's high rollers? A burning bush?
The Stage and Electro release took place always in 1-2 year one after the other. Stage 4 released Feb 2023 and this 1.42 firmware seems to be stable enough. I am sure the guys at Clavia are working on NE7 these days.

So...your statement of being released "soon" is total conjecture and wish projection. To say nothing of not elaborating on what "soon" means.

For most of us, "soon" regarding manufacturer product cycles is generally within six months. There may be some souls out there who consider "soon" to be measured in years, or even centuries (like those who have anticipated a Second Coming of one sort or another)...but in the keyboard biz, "soon" in August would mean ready for the holiday season.

Bah humbug, sir.

>Maybe Nord will surprise us with something completely different. Only Nord knows!<

That is becoming an increasingly tired and ineffective marketing strategy. Not that Clavia actually has any kind of marketing strategy in place...indeed, I'm tempted to suggest that no-one with the word "marketing" in their job title currently works at the place. Please let me know if I'm wrong.

Clavia's coy "just wait and see" approach worked for quite a while...they have always been the boutique babies on the block, so they got a lot of slack when it came to providing their customer base with updates on their plans. Which of course they have never bothered to do. We all just sit around and wait for the next miracle to come.*

I would aver that it's a strategy that no longer works. Yamaha and Korg are eating into their sales. The Electro now has serious competition for seriously less cost. Clavia's curtain of silence is now more a reflection of their foundering in the face of an aging product line that is hopelessly over-engineered and thus dramatically over-priced. Don't agree? Find out just how many Stage 4s are really selling out there. Judging from this board, people are clinging to previous versions and the only Stage 4s you see are from in-house musicians sponsored by Clavia.

I don‘t agree. Firstly it has taken me by surprise seeing how many Stage 4s there are already on local stages or greater venues, even in local bands like mine or yours. And secondly the biggest dealer in Europe shows the Stage 4 88 at 5th position in its stage piano sales ranking, topped only by 4 cheap products (240 - 650 euros) and having Crumars and expensive Yammys and korgs and Rolands far behind.

Only this I wanted to add. The speculation about when comes what is too much wasted time in my eyes.

Cheers from lovely Italy

Thanks for your comments. I would like to see the data from the dealer. I believe you - it's just that actual Nord sales data is very hard to come by, especially in comparison to other vendors.

I don't see the same ranking, maybe it is by country (?), can you also share the link?
EDIT: found https://www.thomann.de/it/cat_rank.html ... 77&gk=TASP

That one is filtered by similarity, I was looking at the general one instead https://www.thomann.de/intl/topseller_G ... ianos.html

Interesting. I don't see where one selects "sales rank" for the sort. In this list of stage pianos, the Stage 4 is considerably lower down the list:

https://www.thomann.de/intl/stage_piano ... P&cme=true

Now, this list is sorted by "popularity," whatever that means. Sales Rank is not listed as a choice in the drop-down. Notice that some of the boards on the above list have a purple "Top Seller" badge. No Nord keyboard has one of these.

SO - there is conflicting data here. It does seem counter-intuitive that the very expensive Stage 4 is Thomann's fifth-highest selling stage keyboard, given all the ones on their list. I'm inclined to believe that they sell more Electros, esp since the Stage 4 is now hitting $6000 in the States after taxes. That's a price point that limits their market to professionals, schools, and very well-heeled amateurs.
