I can attest to the NS3 + SV-1 being a knockout combination as it’s what I’m using now. Pics here: http://www.norduserforum.com/post90945.html#p90945

I personally like the Korg’s action over the NS2 88s that I’ve played and I also prefer its Rhodes and Wurli sounds over the Nord’s.

The one reservation I had about going with the Compact—that I wouldn’t have the fully weighted action if I wanted to go light and just use the Nord on some gigs—evaporated as soon as I got a chance to play it. It’s not the same by any means, but there’s something about the action that I just love and I think I could get by playing piano on it just fine.

Anyway, about those organ sounds…

Back to topic, what ns3 users think about there is no 147 leslie simulation in the nord stage 3. It supposed to give us the c2d

I'm fine with the 122 close.

I'm not aware that the NS3 was "supposed to" give us anything. As per the technical specifications, it includes the C2D organ model (whether this is up to snuff is the subject of this thread).

The rotary effect is listed separately under "Effects" and doesn't mention any specifics.

Yeah my ns3 sw73 keyboard is just what I need for my radial nerve compression in my right arm.

With 122 close I have no complaints with the organ. But my only frame of reference for comparison is an electro 5d in the store, I can't tell any difference. Ditto for keyboard.

Though a quick comparison in the store may not be entirely definitive, that's still encouraging to hear. I've been leaning toward swapping my NE5D for the NS3, my hesitations have been about whether the keys feel different for piano playing (possibly due to a different "bottoming" feel due to the presence of aftertouch), and in light of this thread, whether there's any trade-off in the organ sound. There is one thing about the NE5D I think I'd miss, though... when doing a split, I like that you can, for example, change your right-hand sound from organ to piano with a single button. On the NS3, I think you'd have to go to one button to turn the organ off and another button to turn the piano on.

Just got through my first gig with the NS3 88 last night. This is a dream board. The B3 engine appears to be the same as in the electro 5. Sounds great live. Some folks did some video - will go through them later and try to post some clips The patch remain function works great also. Huge new feature.

I know some folks have complained about the B3 sounds, but I can't hear any problems. Sounds the same as my Electro 5 . It could be the C/V needs some tweaking ( I only use C3 ), but in a live band mix couldn't hear anything amiss. The leslie sim is the important thing and the 122 close setting sounds great. I have a ventilator pedal which I used with my stage 2 EX( it needed it ). The 122 close is nearly as good.

I don't use CV much anyway. Possibly because for many years, my "real" hammond was an old model C that didn't have it!

I also felt that the NE5D was more satisfying to play without a Vent than the NS2 was.

I’m guessing he means the Seamless Transition feature…?
